Hi all

currently i have ISA installed on a Win2k Server box. IIS was set on port 80 with proxy2 also installed. just a while ago we had to install ISA using default port of 80. becuase of this, IIS will no longer start. i have changed the the IIS sites to use a different port (ie, 81, 8080) but IIS still fails to start

is there a resolution for this

thank
Chuck

This is from the ISA documentation:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/prodtechnol/isa/proddocs/isadocs/cmt_iis.asp

If that does not work, can you please provide detailed information about
your configuration (what websites you are using, what your ISA configuration
is), and what error messages you are receiving.

Cheers
Ken

i have read many documents taht are telling me to change the IIS standard web port to something other than 80. however, this is default and i cannot change it when i right click on the IIS MMC console. i have been able to change the sites to port other than 80, but IIS in general still goes on 80 and i cannot modify that

the sites (where there are non at the moment but trying to put one on) are all set to 81 however, they are stopped. when i try to start the sites, they will not start in a timely manor and in the end, will not start at all

when you click on the root of the IIS tree and do a properties, it shows the box where 80 is listed but is unmodifiale (greyed out)

my error just says it cannot start in a timely manor but needless to say they never start at al

is there a fix? or at least a way to set root of IIS to 81.

thank
Chuc

i have even stopped the ISA server services, proxy, firewall, gateway and tried restarting. it seems IIS works, its just hte sitse under IIS will not. however, i think the resolution is to take IIS off of .. listening to all IP addresses in the root. but as i stated this before, this is unchangeable. i have changed ISA to listen to another IP but IIS is a different story

For the 1003 error, it's related to perfmon counter, shouldn't affect any
IIS functionality.
you can try this to reload. http://support.microsoft.com/?id=267831

next, some info for ISA and IIS

and Acceleration Server in Windows 2000
