Hi!

I have buy a domain name (*********.com) and I want to configure IIS 6.0 (
windows 2003 server) with this domain name.
I have my primary and secondary DNS and my IP address. But, after, I must
do what?

I suppose I must open IIS and create a new site but...

Anybody can explain me "How-to" create a new web site.

Thanks you very much!
Dave

Hi,

Install IIS, done.
Go to your DNS provider, give them your domain name and IP
Go to your domain registrar and give them your primary and secondary DNS
servers
Let it replicate, this can take a few seconds to a few days (if it's a new
entry)

Then if all goes well, any requests to www.domain.com should go to your IP
address, which is where IIS is running to take requests

Nothing! :-)

Assuming that's the only site running at that IP address, the default
settings should be good enough. IIS 6 is secure by default

If you want to configure a separate website for that DNS name, then:

a) create a new folder on your hard disk that is going to house your website
content
b) open the IIS manager in the Admin Tools program group
c) right-click on the "websites" node and choose New -> Website
d) during the wizard, enter a common name for the website (this is just how
it'll be named in the IIS manager), and the path to the folder you created
in (a)
e) once the website has been created, right-click on it and choose
"Properties"
f) goto the "web site" tab, and click the "advanced" button
g) edit the current host-header entry, or add a new if you wish. enter the
IP address, port number and DNS name that the site should respond to.

All of this is explained in more detail in the IIS Online Help.

Cheers
Ken
