    - urgent: form post broken Hi all, i have an aspx page that basically responds to form post data. This page runs under SSL and used to work fine on IIS 5. We recently upgraded to IIS 6 and now when the client tries to post data to this page it gets back the error below. The same client machine can get to the page via get i.e. in IE. But POST fails.     - XPProSP2 Cannot Find Server after IIS install I have an XP Pro box at home. I have installed SP2. I, just this day, installed IIS 5.1 in hopes of starting a website. IIS installed fine, but I cannot open default.htm. index.asp, iisstart.asp or iishelp by using http://localhost/filename Everyone has permission to read on all files in INETPUB Services are running for WWW and IIS Admin. Verified in the cmd window. Ran NetStat and determined that port 80 is listening. Went to another computer and I can ping my computer. Ran Telnet from far computer and it saw my computer. DNS resolves my address correctly. REmoved and reinstalled IIS. Applied ASP.net problem with adding IIS after .NET (aspnet_regiis â??I) also registered dll I have turned off my XP firewall. And verified from services that it was shut down. I have turned off my McAfee firewall and verified it was shut down. I have tried using 127.0.0.1, the NIC card address, the computerâ??s name, Itâ??s FQDN and localhost and nothing will display in IE. I have also tried restarting XP Internet Firewall Services, enabling and Checkmarking all entries under services tab except FTP. I have a W2K server running IIS 5.0 and have compared settings and find no difference except... The asterisk in front of the servername on my home computer is missing. Any help would be appreciated.     - Network share using wrong network In IIS I created a virtual directory "folder" using an UNC path: \\10.0.0.5\folder The server has two network cards, one with address 192.168.0.5, and the other is 10.0.0.5. The IIS is running on 192.168.0.5, while the 10.0.0.5 is for the network share. At least that's why I have two interfaces. Anyways, when I access the site using this: http://192.168.0.5/folder/file.jpg On the network share I see the web server connecting by 192.168.0.5 and not the 10.0.0.5 IP. This is defeating the purpose as it's still going through the same network. How do I fix this problem and make the web server use the 10.0.0.x network to access the share?     - Strange IIS5.1 problem with CSS and anchors I'm uss CSS to change the default link (<a href=""></a>) colors on a web page. Everything looks fine when I upload the pages to a web host, and when I view them directly on my hard drive with IE6. The problem starts when I view them locally through IIS (http://localhost/...). The page displays all the rest of the CSS info fine, except anything to do with anchors. The a:hover works fine, but the page doesn't show any changes made to any of the other a: properties (link/visited/active). The code is below. Is it a quirk in IIS5.1? Am I coding something wrong? If I execute the code as a WSH/VBS script everything works fine, even on the windows 2003 server. I've checked the permissions and everything seems to be OK and all folders have same permissions and there is nothing that distincts folder being shown from one ermaining unvisible.     - ASP.NET resources not being displayed Hi, I'm trying to get some ASP resources (asmx, aspx files) which are hosted on IIS 5.0/Windows 2000 Server displayed. Unfortunately, anytime I browse to these resources, I get a 404 error. It doesn't matter whether I'm browsing from the same machine or from a remote machine - I still get the error. However, I'm able to view ordinary html files.     - Large File Download problem From my website various people (including me) are having a problem downloading large files. When people try to download a large file (looks like anything over 1GB - I am note sure exactly though), it either downloads just a little file of 1 KB, or it just goes on, past the actual size. For example, I tried to download a file of 1.74GB, and it is now at 2.98GB and still downloading. We are attempting download by right clicking and choosing "Save Target as..." These files are all .wmv files. You can try them BTW at iCinema.com Also, I tried downloading by using command line FTP (I logged in as administrator) and it works fine - the correct size file downloads.     - Lost server session state I have a web server that is losing state. It will only hold the state (both asp amd asp.net) for about 20 to 30 seconds and then something resets it. This started shortly after the Tuesday monthly patch update from Microsoft.     - 'Properties' does not appear in administration web site I have IIS installed on Windows 2000 SP4 w/ IE6, and when I access the admin web site, select an object, and click 'properties' in the left toolbar, 'Loading...' is displayed for about 10 seconds in the bottom of the screen, and then disappears.     - Configuring IIS v6.0 and CISCO CSS 11503 Our environment is the following: - 2 Intel Servers running Windows 2003 Server with IIS v6.0 - Each server is running 2 instances of an application - Each application has its own CGI - Each instance has it own SSL certificate - We use a CISCO Content Services Switch (11503) Hardware to balance user traffic across the 4 instances. - Users access the application via https requests. We are having issues in configuring IIS and CISCO when one of the istances is down. We have done the following: - Stickness is turned off. - SSL Redirection is turned off. - CSS is configured to monitor the port/service combination. That is it monitors instance one on 2099/443 and instance two on 2100/444 for server 1. Currently if one of the instances goes down (we simulate this by stopping the service) the following is happening: - CSS notices that an instance is down and redirects to next instance 444. - IIS takes the requests and redirects to port 443, the down instance.     - PHP cannot execute programs If I am in the wrong place, please redirect me. I have Windows Server 2003. The application is written in PHP and I am running IIS. At one point in the application, PHP calls another program and passes a parameter. Until today, this has been working fine (very slow, but working). The command is: PHP: $callcmd="rick.bat" plus the project name rick.bat calls CalculateProject.exe CalculateProject.exe is a VB program that launches MS Project (WINPROJ.exe). (yeah, I know it is ugly, but it will work until i get it re-written) Today PHP is working just fine EXCEPT where it calls the other program. It does not run the executable and I get this message back: Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileLoadException: Access is denied: 'Interop.MSProject, Version=4.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.     - IIS6.0 Truncates Client-Script Files Hopefully someone has run into this before, but I have several large javascript client-side files included on my aspx page that error. The server logs indicates that they were sent (code 200), but a look at the temporary internet files on the client shows the files are truncated. Sometimes truncates at about 32k, then repeats the same 32k of code. If I clear the temp internet files, it will sometimes load correctly. Hi,
I am looking to upgrade a glorified desktop webserver running iis 6.0.
to a new dual pentium server with sep os drives and data drives.
What is the best way to migrate all settings? We have around 50 websites
running...can we move usersettings and folder permissions? Since the data
will now be on a different drive, will that mess things up?

We are also running a product called Hosting Controller which offers an iis
web based management solution, but if any changes were made outside of the
Hosting Controller application, the settings would be lost....
