I've set up ssl on IIS MS Server 2003 with our own certificate.
When clients access from outside they receive the Security Alert-
"Issued by a company you have not chosen to trust" Date - OK
Name - OK. They can gain access if they choose to proceed.
I've entered the site https://abcd.com into the trusted sites in
IE and imported the certificate but the clients still get the alert msg.
I'd like to stop this alert if possible - Some advise please?

Did you do the same thing for all the clients? What you do on your computer
does not affect what happens on other people's computers in this case. You
have to repeat the step for eveybody that will use the site.

(Or, just put up with the message. Or, get an acutal certificate, there are
cheap providers out there that don't rip you off as much as Verisign does
for them.)

Thanks for the replies - is there perhaps a way of getting a definative answer
to the question then? Is there any way possible to stop the security alerts
if you use your own certificate? Its just that the message says, " a site
you
have chosen not to trust". I would have thought trusting that site would of
stopped the message.
