The box that has Exchange 2003 installed on it has had all websites
deleted--the default, as well as anything Exchange created for OWA. The
two Exchange app pools are intact (ExchangeApplicationPool and
ExchangeMobileBrowseApplicationPool).

What's the easiest way to recreate the deleted default and OWA websites?
Any pointers appreciated.

Hi Michael,

A backup could perhaps restore everything back as it was before the
websites were deleted.

The default website is not any special, besides that it is named "Default
website", and the identification number is 1. To re-create that website,
all you need to do is create a new website, name it "Default Website" and
use for example Metabase Explorer to give it identification number 1.

As for exchange, i am not sure how the website is configured, so i cannot
answer how to recreate it. You could ask in the Exchange newsgroups how
OWA is set up in IIS. They probably know what to do when the OWA website
has been deleted.

For more information on the Default Website, see:

Exchange newsgroup(s):
microsoft.public.exchange.*

Good Luck!
