I am trying to host multiple sites with Server 2003 and IIS 6.0. I really
just want to get one working now though. I have one public static ip address
but have mapped multiple ip addresses to my server (will that even work?)
and configured that one website in IIS to use a mapped ip address
(192.168.1.200). When I enter 192.168.1.200 in my browser I bring up that
directory so that appears to be working properly. I can also enter
http://staticip/directory and access it through my firewall so I believe
that I have that configured properly in IIS but I can't get any domain name
resolution. I added a new zone into the DNS manager and created an A record
that points to my ip address but when I go to www.dnsreport.com all my
parent category tests pass but not the NS category test. I get:
A timeout occurred getting the NS records from your nameservers! None of
your nameservers responded fast enough. They are probably down or
unreachable. I can't continue since your nameservers aren't responding.
I am new at this and would appreciate any help!
Thanks,
Scott
