Windows 2000, SP4, IIS 5.0

We have enabled logging in the W3C Extended Log File Format. Our new log
time period is set to Daily. This results in a log file created daily at 7
PM. What controls the file being created a 7 PM rather than at 12 AM? We
are in CST, so perhaps the 5 hour difference is a result of
http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/? Is the timing of when daily logs
created a configurable option?

On a related note, is there a process that the daily log correlates with?
We're having problems with our web servers at exactly 7 PM and have not
found any other network/application processes that would explain the
problem.

Thanks in advance.

Mark

The rollover and the Time used in the Log Files are in GMT. If you go to the
Extended Loggin Properties window you will see a checkbox which says "Use
local time for file naming and rollover" which will use your local time for
file rollover, but still uses GMT for timestamping the logs.

Hi Mark,

Trevor's statement is definitely correct.

IIS W3C logs are generated per GMT time. Do you have any special concern of
this?

Thanks & have a nice day.
