ssl & hyper threading

Hi all, I saw a post here from someone stating that HT slows down SSL
computations and needs to be turned off. Why is that so? I emailed Intel and
they came back with there is no known issue at this time. We are getting
slow response times on our SSL sites.

"Also, try turning HT off since it can slow down such computations.

I can't think of anything you can monitor about this -- what sort of
counters are you thinking of? I doubt any will ever exist because it will
only make a slow process even slower and makes no sense to monitor.
