Looking for some guidance on web gardens. I see iis lets me set the worker
processes to what ever I want. It if set it too high it actually hurts me
because I overwhelms the memory and cpu.

Is there a general guideline about how much memory should be available after
all the worker processes are runningâ?¦or is using up all the physical memory
except for 50 megs or so a good way to run and utilize memory resources?

Thanks

Hi Jason,

Before estimate the memory usage of web garden, you'd first estimate the
max number of concurrent worker processes will be hosted on the server.
Then evaluate the approximate memory usage per w3wp.exe process based on
the actual web application. The information in below whitepaper will be of
some help:

I found an MS document saying that there should be a least 20% of memory
available when all process are running.
