win2k adv server, iis5.0
this may be more of a windows files question but thought i'd start here
the files in my ftp directory have become essentially unaccessible even to a
admin user
the msg is 'access is denied, source file may be in use' can't copy, rename,
etc
as far as i can tell nothing on the ftp machine or any ftp users have the
files in use
where can i find out which user/process etc has files in use
or is there a some tool to install to find this info out in the future
and hopefully tools to free them up

Try Process Explorer from Sysinternals :

http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/procexp.shtml

Try this KB article also :
