We are running a Windows NT 4.0 Server with Service Pack
6. When the server was initially put together (5 years
ago), IIS was not loaded, so we use the NT 4.0 Option Pack
to load IIS. I am sure that the version of IIS was 4.0,
but we think it had to be upgraded because of security
issues or virus. I am trying to find out how I can tell
what the version of IIS that's installed. Can anyone help?

How to determine version of IIS on server by doug

You are using version 4.0. NT 4 will only run versions 2,
3, or 4. Since you installed the Option Pack, you have
version 4. Make sure you have service pack 6a and every
available update, hotfix etc. for that puppy...

Thanks doug! I didn't realize how many people would have the same question as me. The server does have service pack 6a, it just shows as 6 when you boot it. As far as the updates and hotfixes, are you talking for IIS 4.0? If so, can I just go to Windows Update to see if we have all available?

Updates for IIS and the OS. If you go to Windows Update,
it should download and install any updates you are
missing.
