ok I think i have problems with permissions or something,
everytime i add a php script, or javascript or any type
of script, when i try and access the page i always get
prompted for a username and password, if it's a normal
html file i don't get prompted for a login and password,
just the .js , .php files i get prompted for a login and
password.

can anyone help?

If you're getting prompted when trying to run scripts...

Does the script run if you give the username and password for the admin
account?

If so, then you're correct this is a permissions problem...

Check out filemon and regmon from sysinternals.com - use them to track down
your permissions problem...
