We have had this problem with our IIS web servers for quite some time
we can't seem to nail down.

IE is caching temp files in C:\WINDOWS\Temp\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5 and then a subfolder of the cache. It's caching
bitmaps of a snap shot when a customer surfs to that page and a call is
made.

We can't locate the setting to turn this cashing off for Windows and
the problem is we're running out of space often because it can cache
500 MB's in a day.

If the problem were in IE we'd have no problem, we could just turn
the cache off.

Thoughts?

I am not sure i understand the problem. In what way is IE's cache related
to IIS? IIS does not cache anything in that folder. Are you using IE on
the server to browse websites and this is causing problems?

IE's caching can be changed from Tools->Internet Options in IE, and then
click on the Settings button.

You are actually caching stuff in that folder yourself using your
browser. IIS doesn't do that.

Tell your browser to delete the cache each time you exit the browser.

This is an online website... So no one inhouse visits the web pages and
IE is not used on the server.

It's the client's browser that requests the image but the server that
caches it.
