I am able to view htm files just file, however all asp files return an error

Server Application Erro
The server has encountered an error while loading an application during the processing of your request. Please refer to the event log for more detail information. Please contact the server administrator for assistance

The event log yeilds the following

The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT'. The error was 'Class not registere
'.

Any ideas what class and how do I register it once or if I'm able to determine the unregistered class

Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions

Looks as if the metabase is corrupt. Recreate that specific virtual
directory or website and see if it is fixed.
It also might have to do with a permission error. IWAM_ might be incorrect.
If the hint above does not work, run \inetpub\adminscripts\synciwam.vbs

It looks like it something might be corrupt. Recreating the virtual directory did not correct the problem
When I ran synciwam.vbs it produced an error: 8004E00
Looks as if I might have to reinstall
