Hi,
I want to host 2 domains on the same machine, both domains point to the
same ip, so can I use XP Pro IIS to point to the individual web sites on my
machine OR do I need a Windows Server machine to do this? Is it possible to
do with virtual directories?
New to this so need some help.
TIA
Patrick

You would need a Windows Server to do that natively. Workstations can only
run 1 web site (and thus can't do host headers, etc)

Cool that is the definitive answer I wanted.
Have you any idea, can I setup two domains on pop3 and have the same
username for each domain? i.e. patrick@mydomain1.com and then also
patrick@mydomain2.com , currently when I try this on an evaluation copy of
Windows 2003 server it says user already exists? Is there a way around this
other than a 3rd party email server, Kerio email server handles this fine.

Hi Patrick,

That depends which authentication you use. I believe if you do not use SPA
then you can have the same user@multiple.domains but with it you can't since
it ties the mailbox with the computer/domain user

Hello,

This is possible with
- Encrypted File Authentication
- Active Directory Authentication

It is not possible with Windows Authentication, which is probably what you
are using.

So from a user logging in, what difference does the various authentication
do? If I can log in using the present format and then change to the formats
described here, do I need to change anything on Outlook for logging in?

Hello,

I am almost sure that you do not need to change anything in the client.

How do I enable Encrypted File Authentication or Active Directory
Authentication in Windows Server 2003? At present the only option I have is
SPA or no SPA and I still get "user exists" message without SPA.
Help !!

You must delete the domain(s) in the POP3 console. That will give you the
option to change Authentication Method.

I almost read past this because I also use Kerio (love it) and thought you
were right. But after further thought, Kerio doesn't really do this
seamlessly. Remember, you are asked to use userID@domain.com as your full
userID (uerID@domain.com@domain.com) when loging on (even though the
inbound mail can be addresseda as only userID@domeina.com), thereby helping
Kerio distinguish between the "same" userID in different domains.

Can't answer your W2K3 question though.
