Hello,
when we send a email from a form with Cdonts it go in
loop and send out a lot of email
this is the code and it is ok so i think that is a IIS
problem, any help?

ISA Server, Can I restrict a single username from Yahoo?
Need a way to restrict a specific username from going
across the ISA server. Or a way to tell from which
computer a user is login on to a specific Yahoo account....
I notice that in the url for login, the user name is
present...

i've just set up iis 5 on winxp and would like any links
or information on cookies. what information can i glean
from visitors to my site? what tools are available to
keep track of visitors browsing habits within my site,
etc. also what is different if i purchased the windows
2003 webserver edition, along these lines. I've always
read the negative publicity cookies get, now i'm
interested in the positive things.

IIS Admin Service wont start
I have recently reinstalled IIS on an XP machine because
for one reason or another, it wasnt running. I tried to
start it manually and the service will not start at all.
Msg: Could not start IIS Admin service on Local
Computer. Error: 5 - Access is denied. I am logged in as
administrator and it used to work.
Please help and email if you can for I may not be able to
check the NGroup again.

Can't install IIS from XP Pro CD
I am trying to install the IIS server from the Windows XP
Pro CD. When it gets to the copying files part of install
it says to make sure the "Windows XP Professional CD SP1"
is in the drive. It is not letting me select it from any
other location either. Does anyone know why this is

a.mdb - can have 20 ODBC connections

New IIS Install - Upgrade from XP Home Addition
I recently upgrade from XP Home addition to XP
professional. IIS appears to be installed correctly and
is up and running however, under my start->program
options I do not have Administrative Programs as an
Option. I did get to the directory and there is no
Internet Services Manager loaded. I am wondering what to

PUT method returns 501 error
IIS 5 / Windows 2000 - PUT method returns 501 (Not
Implemented) error.
We are using URLScan to set IIS properties. We enable
PUT with URLScan but still get 501 error. Directory
permissions appear to be correct (write enabled).
Documentation says server should return 501 if it does
not understand or implement any of the content-*
(e.g., Content-Range) headers. This may be related but
we are unable to find info on IIS headers.
Related clue. PUT was working on this server. Installed
a 3rd party dll to enable uploading files using asp.
The dll worked fine. It appears, however, that the PUT
method stopped working after installation of this dll.
Not sure if this is related, but it's about the only
recent change done on the server.

for a while, but then windows decided to stuff around with my login accounts
and now iis will not connect to my computer. when i load it it automatically

ASP TimeOut limit
Hi, I set ASP TimeOut in IIS Manager Properties to 2
seconds and used Server.ScriptTimeOut to check that it is
in fact =2, but the script that "ran" for about 10
seconds. Why is that so? Are there any other settings that

IIS6 works on LAN not on Internet
Hello,
I just replaced a NT4 server with a 2003 server and the two websites I
am hosting off of it no longer work from the internet. If I am on my lan
they work fine. computers on the lan use a local dns server that maps the
website names to the lan ip address. Offsite using the internet I get a
page cannot be displayed error. The IP address for both the Internet and
lan are the same as the NT4 box. Other services, such as the e-mail server,
are working fine. I don't think it is a DNS problem. Any idea's??

SMTP doesn't send emails
Pls help!
I can't seem to send emails using the local SMTP Virtual
Server that resides at the IIS 5 server. I thought CDO is
simple. Would any lockdown like IISLockdown or other
registry configuration prevented me from doing so. I tried
so many options.
I tried ASP... cannot. IE returned Access Denied. Another
code returned Permission Denied.
I followed a few of MS articles, including manually
putting a text file to the Pickup folder (file remained
without being sent for queue), article to test SMTP
Services Manually (KB:286421), the message provided was
message queued (somthing like that. But when I look at the
mailroot, the messages were in the BadMail with the
following message:
Unable to deliver this message because the follow error
was encountered: "This message is a delivery status
notification that cannot be delivered.".
The specific error code was 0xC00402C7.
The message sender was <>.
The message was intended for the following recipients.

install Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) on windows XP Professional
Hello,
On my new XP-Pro system I need to install IIS to run
FrontPage properly. When I try to install IIS a req is
made for install components on service pack 1, which I
don't have [physically] but it is installed on my system.
I did d/l the Network update SP 1-a hoping it would have
IIS but the required install components were still
missing.
Is there someone who knows where I can d/l a 'full'
version of SP 1 which does contain the files required for
the IIS server?

localhost barely ever responds
I'm trying to set up a site. But my localhost doesn't
respond most of the time. The only time it really
reasponds is if I restart my computer or if I end the
inetinfo.exe process (even then it only works a couple
time before it stops responding).
I can't access it when trying to create web projects on
vb.net, dreamweaver or when trying to access it from my
browser.
I just keep getting a "Page cannot be displayed" Page.
If anyone has a solution to my problem a reply woud be
greatly appreciated.

Perl in IIS 6.0 - File permissions?
Hi,
I followed the instructions in imbored.biz but am still getting the
'returning a complete set of HTTP headers' error. We use tight file
permissions on our web server (i.e. anonymous and process account is
denied to the whole system except for the web directories and some
system files). I ran Filemone while I was running the .pl file and I
noticed that perl.exe is getting Access Denied on accessing
wsock32.dll in the windows\system32 folder. What account is perl.exe
running under when my IIS 6.0 is running in Process Isolation Mode?

After moving web page
After moving a web page to different folder and making a
new virtual directory on same machine with same IP
address, users cannot connect to web site without deleting
cache of internet files, cookies and all offline content.
How can the server be set up to refresh this so users will

Excel Report stops converting currency
At some point after running this report the "Wholesale Price" column data
type in the excel spread sheet changes from Currency to General... It seems
to ba around the 300th or so row but varies... This problem only occurs if
the client is running Office XP.. And only in our production environment,
not test or dev they are supposed to identical to prod but I doubt that for
obvious reasons...
Can someone tell me why, or give some suggestions as to things to look
at.....???

Hi there
I am using Windows XP Professional and I installed IIS
components in that.
I can able to see the ststus "manually stsrted" in the
Administative tools(Services).But the IIS is not at all
working.
When I right click on my system name in the IIS,I am not

IIS 6 Stops responding after working for a wwhile
Hi:
I just installed windows 2003 Serve with IIS 6, after
configuring a web site that uses ASP, everything works
well for about one hour and then IIS stops responding to
requests.
Explorer says "web site found waiting for reply" and it
just hangs there forever.
Any help on how to resolve this issue is appreciated.

IIS has been running well for me for a long time. This
morning I opened up the snap-in to make some changes to a
new app and I got a message box with this:
Snap-in failed to initialize.

I hit okay and in MMC I see this message:
The snap-in is not created, it may not be installed
properly.

IIS is still running fine, but I am unable to administer
it through the snap in.
I am running XP Pro
I'm not sure when this started. I don't make changes very
often. I probably haven't been into the snap in for a
couple of weeks. I can't think of anything I have done
since then that is likely to cause any trouble. I have
installed a few Windows updates, I suppose.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that didn't
help. I haven't been able to find any information on this
error on the internet. Any ideas/suggestions would be
appreciated.

Having problems with IIS
I just tried to view a page that I had earlier on my own personal web site
and was not able to view it. I then tried just plain old localhost and was
again not be able to view anything. I then tried to stop and re-start IIS.
When trying to restart IIS I received an error message reporting that it
could not be restarted. Now when I view the sites that are set up via
Internet Information Services I see a red error sign in front of Default Web
Site. The default web site also says stopped.
Any suggestions

I've done the install and uninstall of 822925 a couple of
times now, and have determined that a patched Windows XP
Professional used for web application development throws
a 500 error in IIS GET process.

IIS 6.0 does not work
Actually something is wrong from the beginning, I can't even open the
http://Computername/ Site. I checked the running Service, and it seems to be
working, I tried the Admintool, from my "Beginner"-view everything looks
good.
Anyone a Idea?

problem w uninstalling and reinstallin IIS 5 in W2K Server
Hi,
For some reason server did not work. I tried several configurations, but
could not succeed.
I decided to uninstall and reinstall IIS5 from Add/Remove Programs menu.
While I uninstalled, computer crashed. NOw it looks IIS5 is not installed. I
choose the components but it does not ask for CD for the needed files
anymore. It just shuts that specific window and gets back to add/remove
programs menu.
As if this is not enough, my Exchange server started not working.I receive
Error 1075
Any help ?

iis hangs on startup + windows shared section memory allocation
Hi,
I have a server with 2 1.4 GHz processors and 2 GB of RAM running Windows
2000 with Service Pack 3 (server name is THRUSH). I have installed Oracle
Forms and Reports and I am trying to run 6 services out of this Oracle
install. 2 for TEST, 2 for PROD, and 2 for TRAIN. I cannot get all 6 to
run at the same time and I am not too sure why because I have the same
environment set up on another server that has 1/2 the resources (this server
name is WOLF). When I attempt to start the 6th service I get an error that
the service could not start becuase it did not respond in a timely manner.
However, I can get all 6 to run on THRUSH if I shutdown IIS but then it
hangs on startup.
Also I needed to increase the setting under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
Manager\SubSystems\Windows. I had to change Windows
SharedSection=1024,3072,512 to Windows SharedSection=1024,3072,1024. I
cannot get the 3rd value any higher then 1024 on THRUSH otherwise IIS hangs
on the re-boot. Errors I see are:
The IIS Admin Service service hung on starting.
The FTP Publishing Service service depends on the IIS Admin Service service
which failed to start because of the following error:
After starting, the service hung in a start-pending state.
The Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) service depends on the IIS Admin
Service service which failed to start because of the following error:

The World Wide Web Publishing Service service depends on the IIS Admin

On the smaller server, WOLF, I can set this 3rd value to 2560 with no

URGENT: IIS vs. webmatrix server
Hi,
I'm developing a web page application that runs 2 processeses. These
two process create postcript files, the first one creates a map and
the second one overlays data over that map.
Apparently my application was working fine when I ran it with microsoft
webmatrix server; however eventually I used IIS to run the
application but only one process ran (The first) I'm using windows xp pro btw...

What is the "Administration Web Site" for?
Im running Windows 2000 Server. In the Internet Information Services
Manager appears an "Administration Web Site" and I've been trying to
figure out what this is for.
In my Google searches the only thing I find is information on how to
secure it. But I don't understand its purpose in the first place. Why
is it there? What does it do? What can it do for me?

iis not working
when i installed IIS 5.0 on w2k, initially i got problem
to start the default web site.when i tried to stsrt
default web site i got a message box with message "address
already in use". so, i tried by changing the port from 80
to 90.now when i right clicked on default web site and
pressed start, it looks like iis started. but when i tried
to test the services with http://localhost/localstart.asp,
the page is not displaying and giving error "page can't be

IIS stopping error 7031
My IIs 5.0 server is stoppping every 10 - 25 min with a
7031 error...according to the server it has happened 56
times and wants a recovery app run....

I dont know if anyone else experences this but. If no-one hits my site in a
few hours the next attempt
is very slow to respond. it delays about 6-10 seconds before it will display
even static web pages.
then it's ready to serve up pages fast. I run static pages, asp.net and web
services on this box.
Any suggestions ?

ASP.Net services...
I seem to be having a little bit of problems with the ASP.Net services, it
seems to run fine for a few days then it seems that the threads are not
dropping and then the asp.net services just stop working. On our server
there is not even any ASP.Net applications, just straight forward .ASP pages
that do not run any of the .Net services. Is it possible to remove the
ASP.Net services off of my Windows 2000 Server without any problems by going
into the Add/Remove?

Hello. Look, I have the following problem:
I need to restart Web-application, but I have to be sure that it's idle at
the moment.
I know, there's WebDirectory's property in IIS 6 that allows to unload
application after it was idle for defined minutes, but I have IIS 5.

Hi i was wondering is there anyway of beeing able to tell
who is uploading there web with iis ie whos connected at
that time becase we have just had a 100 percent
utilization on our processors for a bout 35 minutes now
and the service that was causing that was inetinfo.exe
which is an iis file
we dont use the standard ftp service that is installed on
windows iis5 thats diasbled we use a third party which
tells you whos uploading
it may well have been a frontpage user who cuased this
problem
but it could be qiet good if there was a command line
utility to see who is actually uploading to there web

Clustered IIS Instance stuck in "offline pending" mode
After I set up the Default Web Site as a IIS Instance
resource in cluster administrator, the resource stays in
a offline pending state until it fails the group.
I can stop it from failing, however the new resource sits
in Offline mode and will not come online.
I performed an IISSync and set up DTC as a resource prior
to creating the instance.
I have also tried setting this up on a completely
different cluster with the same results.

Frontpage server extention 2002
Hello,
I installed Frontpage server extention 2002. I have IIS v
5.1. The problem I am having is I can not get to the admin
page when I try IIS MMC//Default Website//(right click
menu)Properties => Server Extention 2002 tab and then
Settings). This directs me to Sharepoint admin page on the
local machine and then asks for username/password. I have
an admin account on the local machine (XP Professional)
with no password. However even with the password after I
added it, it does not take my username/password.
How can I add myself as an admin and get to the admin pages
to manage my site? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I have got XP Pro running IIS 5.1, everything has run
smoothly for 18 months, but now IIS has stopped working.
It will not load and when you go through computer manager
console it just hangs.
Nothing on http://localhost/ will display, iisreset.exe
seems to hang as well.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall, but the unistall
program just hangs.
The system is has all current updates.
I want to know if there is anything I can try before i
have do a repair/reinstall of XP

IIS installed, but can't see IIS in the Computer Management Console
Hello IIS experts,
I want to install IIS on my machine(windows 2000 professional).
First I installed it (6.0) through control panel by adding windows
component.
It went through OK.
But when I try to configure IIS by looking at the list under "Services
and Applications" in Computer Management Console, I can't find it.
I tried uninstalling and re-installing IIS through control panel many
times. It doesn't show up in computer management console always.
Does anybody know what's wrong with it? I have the administrtor
privilege to my machine.

I believe it's an IIS configuration problem, but I dont know what. I
tried configuring both computers to have the same IIS settings but it's
not working either. I may have missed something I dont know. Please

Oh. Here's another somewhat related and annoying problem. Like I said
above, this code works on the Windows 2000 Server machine, but I notice
that after it gets executed, two shortcuts are automatically created on
my C:\ drive. There's a shortcut icon for "Questionaire.xls" and one
for the folder "Questionaires". Im not sure what's creating these
shortcuts but I dont want this to happen. I suspect it's also an IIS
problem. Anyone have any ideas? By the way, this doesnt not happen
when I run the code via the command prompt.
