I am running Windows XP Professional and installed IIS. When I try to browse
to http://localhost I have to do that several times before the home page is
delivered to the browser. The first several times I get a can't find page
type message; then that changes to a waiting for a waiting for localhost
message then eventually after several refreshes the localhost homepage
appears. It is almost like IIS takes awhile to wake up. I am pretty sure that
is is active withis a reasonable time after starting the system. Related to
this is that the IIS manager doesn't do anything (won't launch or doesn't see
a web server) until after IIS seems to be running.
Could this be related somehow to .NET Framework or another application not
starting soon enough that IIS uses?
Thank you.
