On my local XP Pro system instaled the php snapin to test my website
locally. All settings are default and my site works perfectly. However, when
I upload to my hosts site, something is configured strangely with their php
so when people try to login on my site it does't work.

Is there some type of security problem with php snapin that they would have
to have disabled something that affects my website in this way?

This is really a PHP question for your Hoster. Please either locate support
for the PHP snapin webapp you are using, or locate support from your Hoster
for their policy on PHP.

Hello,

This does not seem to be related to IIS, but more to PHP. Since it is
working locally on your machine, the problem seems to be a setting, and only
your webhost knows what their settings are. So i suggest that you contact
your webhost to get support, or they should atlease be able to tell you what
you need to do different to be able to use your PHP code.

Thanks, but unfortunately my host seems to have their thumb up their ass.
I've sent them my php ini and they still can't let me know anything. I've
even given them remote access to my computer to check out my settings but
they didn't even want to try, I've offered to send them anything they ask
for but they don't.

The support group for my cpgnuke site doesn't know what the issue could be
because they are sort of anti microsoft. Their answser is simply that IIS is
buggy.

Is your hoster running IIS or not? Maybe it's the difference in filenames
( "/" vs "\" ).

You can point out to the "cpgnuke support group" that it is working on IIS
(runs fine for you locally) but not on the Hoster... so the FUD about "IIS
is buggy" is just their uninformed noise.

Yes it's windows hosting for sure because I have a .net app on it that works
fine ;o)

I've told the cpgnuke people many times that it works fine on IIS and
phpsnap since my local host is a testamony to that. I've also told my host
the same thing, I've sent them php.ini files offered to send them anything
they ask for regarding my server setup. I've even gave them remote desktop
login/password for 3 days when I went on vacation but they didn't even
login.

I've been trying to find another host so I can threaten to leave but I can't
really find comparable hosting :(

Aside from my problem, I'd be interested in host recommendations
http://www.webhost4life.com/hosting.asp
I have the "premium" plan, my budget would be 20-35/mo
I realize unlimited bwidth isn't a norm so I could use 40-75GB/mo

Oh yeah, I've seen their ads in eweek and other mags a lot. They look good,
the only thing I'm noting is that it's either or. aspx/mssql or php/mysql,
and I really need both at this time. Maybe I can e-mail them about it and
see if they can add or something.
