Shared Web Hosting - Help

Hi All, This is about for a shared web hosting. Could any one please tell me
how many maximum websites can be hosted on a single server on a single IIS6.0
Installation? please let me know the server configuration and the maximum
websites that can run on a single server. Many Thanks in Advance.

Hello,

This is very difficult to answer, since it will depend on hardware, and
the kind of websites hosted on the server.

If your customers only have static websites, with few visitors, you can
easily host 1000+ websites on one server. If on the other hand your
customers are running ASP.NET, with a lot of monthly visitors it can be as
low as just a few websites per server.

The best thing is to monitor the webserver and see when it is starting to
get low on resources.

There's no one answer to this question. Among other things, it all depends
on what the sites do (static vs dynamic), how well they're coded, and how
many concurrent users. Consult the IIS Resource Kit for a sizing guide.
