Hello. I have a Windows Server 2003 Web edition box that has IIS 6 and the
Sharepoint Sevices portal so that web editors can manage their sites (it is a
hoting environment). The processor is runnign at 50% all of the time. If I
shut off Sharepoint Services App Pool, the problem goesaway, but people can
no longer edit their sites. Ideas as to what my next step should be?

Thanks!

Is there any custom user code running in that App Pool?

If not, I would see if there are any applicable hotfixes for anything on
your machine. If there are none, then open a support case with Microsoft.
50% CPU utilisation typically occurs if you have a dual-core or
hyper-threaded CPU, and one of the cores is stuck in an infinite loop or
similar.

If you do have custom user code, then I would start by looking for bugs in
that code.

Cheers
Ken
