I have installed it. If I type http://localhost I get to a web page where I
have pictures (Gallery). Now if I go and type the actual address of my site
I get "Page cannot be displayed". Any suggestions? It seems like Im so close.
Thanks.

Getting the "Page cannot be displayed" message, but if I type in
http://localhost it will come up. Now if I type in http://www.mydomain.com
it comes up with the mentioned error.

Turn off friendly error messages in IE so we can get something more useful
... Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced, and uncheck "Show friendly HTTP
error messages".

Even with that function turned off it still shows, "Page cannont be
displayed". It was showing in the bottom left of Explore, "Found
website....waiting for reply", but then never goes anywhere.

This may or may not be obvious but...
- Are you serving the site from a static or dynamic ip address?
- Have you tried to access the site from your default ip iddress ie.
http://127.0.0.1/yourdomain/
- Have you changed the DNS info for this domain? (where did you
register the name ie godaddy.com register.com)?

back to you

Might be IE, not IIS. Add the domain and/or IP address into the
Intranet zone in IE's security tab.

How can I add the IP address if its set up to receive from DHCP from an ISP?
I will add the domain name to the Intranet zone in IE's security tab.

Run IPCONFIG at a command line to get the IP address and add it.

Though if your ISP is issuing an IP other than what you browsed to you
won't see your site, nor will you if the domain name doesn't resolve
to that IP either.
