 - IISState log analyse, iis6 Hi All, I have a problem with a server that contains one site. I won't bore you with al the symptomps, but have an IISState log attached. Can anyone help me with analysing this one? Note: - I have used the -SC switch (softcrash). - If i don't use the softcrash switch, the site can run for hours before it stops responding. It's a problem to get a trace at that point but i will try bij letting iis isolating the worker process. So this log is from when the site seemingly was in a healthy state, but IISState thought otherwise. When i use the hardcrash switch, IISState writes to the console a lot of these messages: (87c.958): Access violation - code c0000005 (first chance) (87c.fc0): CLR exception - code e0434f4d (first chance) After a while i get an 'service unvailable', but no log. Can anyone assists?  - Problem with integrated Windows Authentication Hi, it seems that i do something wrong to use the integrated windows authentication I created a folder on the webserver for example d:\test Then i gave to this folder IISServer\Administrators -> Full Access User A -> Read Access User B -> Read Access After this, i created a virtual folder in IIS, with read and browse right in it. Turned the Integrated Windows Authentication on and the anonymous access of. As an administrator, i am always able to get in the website. But as a User, i will alway be prompted for a username / password. Even if i have the necessary access rights ? Where do i do a stupid mistake ?  - Windows XP problems with Integrated Windows authentication... Hi all, We have an Intranet(IIS 5) with Integrated Windows authentication for automatic login. It works just fine for all users, but some Windows XP-users have experienced this: they are prompted for username and password when they leave the intranet and are "surfing" on the Internet. We're using a proxy. We also have Windows 2000-users and they never get this problem. Example: The user starts the Intranet it works fine, now the user enters for example www.google.com: now the user is prompted for username and password. Any ideas?  - localhost or local http referencing with multiple web sites Hey everyone, At home i have winXP, running IIS with the default web site. As normal i can use the url http://localhost/ or http://127.0.0.1/ to get browser access to execute the ASP pages that reside there. I am running an ASP script on my managed server that needs to locally run another ASP page on that same server and return some data. The MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP object requires any input to be preceded with http:// so i cannot use simple "./scripts/script.asp". The hosting company i use is telling me that it is impossible for my script running on SERVER to access another script running on SERVER using http://something. Is it possible to configure more than 1 web site on Windows 2000 Server running IIS so that all web sites can be accessed using http://localhost or something similar? For some reason I get an error from IIS to the effect that I cannot run an update query against the Access database (I can read the database without a problem, just not write to it).  - IIS 6 Search Engine Hi, I migrated our IIS4 server to a 2003 server/IIS6 and now our search engine's broken. I have index server configured correctly, the sites are checked to index themselves, they seem to be indexing no problem, catalogs are all there. I've tried the registry hack where you put in the absolute path for index server to start from. We're using search.html that returns query.idx, after being formatted by query.htx, that kind of setup.  - Transfering IIS To A Different System Need to transfer webhosting to a different server. The problem is that the C: on the new server isn't big enough to hold the Inetpub folder. So I put it on the D: instead. Then installed the IIS service and it created a new Inetpub folder on the C:. I did a backup from the IIS MMC console on the old server, then tried to do a restore on the new one. The restore errored out, saying that the configuration store could not be restored. Possible causes being that the store was corrupt, or the MTA packages were removed. Attempting to access anything in the IIS MMC console then resulted in "Invalid Signiture" errors. I unintalled IIS and reinstalled. Tried the restore again, exact same result. I'm assuming that this error is becasue the Inetpub directory is not in the same location as on the server that the backup image was created on. I don't see any way in the IIS management console to direct the server to look to a different path to the Inetpub folder. I was thinking that perhaps I could keep the wwwroot and ftproot subfolders on the D: where there is space for them, and move the rest of the Inetpub folder to the default location on the C:. I installed IIS WWW server and FTP server, after installation I typed http://localhost into browser and got: Server Application Error The server has encountered an error while loading an application during the processing of your request. Please refer to the event log for more detail information. Please contact the server administrator for assistance. I am positive this is not a permission issue, I copy some jpg and html files into wwwroot folder and they showed up in browser without problems, problems seem to be limited to asp files only.  - IIS not serving ASP.Net pages Hello, I've been experiencing issues with being able to run ASP.Net pages in one server. It has no issues serving regular ASP files, but when dealing with any .Net web content it freezes and shows an empty page. This happens with ASPX, ASMX, and any other type of .Net page. I know the pages work because they were compiled and run on a build machine first. But when moving them to the webserver they all cease to function. I've uninstalled and re-installed the .Net Framework (using add/remove programs, then downloading the redistributable framework and installing it). I've tried re-installing the aspnet using aspnet_iis.exe -ua then aspnet_iis.exe -i. To no avail.  - Redirecting to an application We currently have a company website in IIS 5.0 called "Company Portal" which is redirecting to an application called "Portal". Under Home Directory, I have the redirect going to /Portal. Also, the option "A client will be sent to...A directory below this one." is selected. This all works fine. The problem is when we migrate the site to IIS 6.0, none of the directories, files and applications under the website on the console appear. The only way for me to see them is to select 'A directory located on this computer' and enter the physical path to the root of the site. Here's a fairly simple question: Does anybody know of a way to get the POST Data from a request in an ISAPI Filter without using SF_NOTIFY_READ_RAW_DATA? I'm trying to port an existing filter to IIS 6.0 and it doesn't support SF_NOTIFY_READ_RAW_DATA unless you go into IIS 5.0 compatibility mode, which I'd rather not do. So, since all I need is the POST data, is there another way to get it? The reason I want this in a filter instead of an extension is that it could run for any URL on the site, and sometimes, it redirects users, in which case, we need to hang on to the POST data somehow so it's not lost with the 302.  - ASP Server Application Error Whenever I set the Application Protection of my intranet site to medium or high, and try to navigate to my asp pages I get an error in IE that says "Server Application Error" and the following entries are logged in the System Log: Event Type: Error Event Source: DCOM Event Category: None Event ID: 10010 Date: 11/6/2003 Time: 12:00:34 PM User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Computer: BWS06A Description: The server {3D14228D-FBE1-11D0-995D-00C04FD919C1} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout. The site used to work and once I attempted to install Exchange 2000, everything stopped working. I have since removed Exchange and am still having problems. I've been through the active directory permissions about 20 times and I am out of ideas. If I set the Application Protection to Low, IE gives me an error that the default script laguage is invalid. I have been all over Microsoft's site looking for some information to piece this together and I would appreciate if anyone has dealt with this situation and could give me some fresh leads. Thanks.  - Non delivery errors I have installed a Windows 2000 server with IIS and an SMTP server to relay incoming email to our main email server. Since it's installation I recieve non-delivery messages from the Postmaster indicating a message failed to be delivered. The Sender also gets a non-delivery notification. There are 2 variations. One appears to legitimate bulk email (non-spam) to hundreds of recipients. The other is remote users with our domain name as their email address but their own ISP's SMTP server.  - problem with cgi-bin, perl source being displayed on action of html page I am working on an IIS 5.0 which was set up by somebody else(to whom i don't have access), to get some html/asp pages to work. The html pages have some forms which are supposed to submit the data to the asp pages.  - Does anyone know how to publish a website to an Intranet, with no ISP service, using Front Page All, I have IIS 5.0 running on a Win2000 box. I have an intranet web site created on the box. I want to take advantage of the search capabilities on of FPSE 2002. I use Front Page 2002 to build and update my site. It is a very simple site using hyperlinks to files etc. We don't do anything fancy. When I tried to apply the search component to an ASP web page and try to activate it, I get a message saying the site must be published. My regional settings are UK English, The Set Default is UK English (although it was US English). * There are two other profiles under HKEY_USERS/ both of these have UK settings, as is the case with HKEY_CURRENTUSER * I added a key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OLEAUT VarConversionLocaleSetting = 2 and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\InetInfo\Parameters SetVarConversionLocaleSetting = 2 which should force IIS to use system default Regional Settings I have since rebooted, yet still the problem persists. I have even explicity set the Session.LCID = 2057 in the global.asa session startup event (although I don't see why I should have to use a coding solution here) Server config is Windows2000 Advanced Server version 5.0 Servive Pack 4 Any help would be very much appreciated.  - Invalid URL when using LOcalHost I am trying to run some asp pages on my personal computer. Prevoiuslu I was using Windows-98 Personal Web Servier. Now I have Windows XP and I just installed IIS. . I put the script in C;\inetup\wwwroot. That is the home page of the default web when I go to IIS Adm tools and look at it. When I run from Netscape(4.61), sometimes the script just hangs, other times I get the message Invalid URL. Tried in IE 6.0 and get the same type of message.  - IIS logfile monitoring - FindFirstChangeNotification does not fire Hi All, I've written an MFC application that monitors files using the FindFirstChangeNotification Windows API. This works quite nicely for (almost) all types of file, but seems to trip up on IIS log files. The application loads the file initially, but any changes are not detected. It would appear that the FindFirstChangeNotification does not get triggered by IIS. The API parameters are: fch = FindFirstChangeNotification (szNewPath, FALSE, FILE_NOTIFY_CHANGE_SIZE); I've tried changing the last parameter for FILE_NOTIFY_CHANGE_LAST_WRITE, but that still doesn't seem to work. I've googled the issue and there is one mention back in 2002 of a chap in Brazil that is having exactly the same problem, but there didn't seem to be any update.
