Some process or somebody is trying to use that account for something. I would investigate why. Is SMTP even being used on this server? If not,
stop/disable the service, or uninstall smtp.
Thank you. I hope this information is helpful.

| Hi,
|
| In the system log of our RAS and VPN servers (which also
| is a RAS server) we get SMTPSVC warnings ID 100. The
| description reads, "The server was unable to logon the
| Windows NT account 'webmaster' due to the following error:
| Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. The
| data is the error code.". I read that the warning would
| appear when IIS tries to use the account specified, but
| the account doesn't exist in the Computer Management
| Console. Could this issue cause any problems?
|
| Thanks
