Hi,

New to 2003 SBS and IIS. I have installed SBS and IIS. I
have a software firewall (WinProxy) on another machine
that is port forwarding any inbound port 8080 request to
port 80 on the SBS. I use NO-IP.com redirecting port 80 to
8080 of the home firewall computer. When I browse to the
NO-IP URL I see the default web of the SBS no problem.
When I try to select/connect to "My Company's Internal Web
Site. The URL becomes http://coompanyweb and fails
with "The page cannot be displayed". This is the same for
Remote Web Workplace too. I have given myself anonymous
access in the permissions. I have a book on IIS 6, but
alas it's the pits. Any general/specific help would
greatly appreciated. Book suggestions, etc. I just want
expose my company files to the internet and I have been
completely stymied for about three weeks.

Hi,

That is because "companyweb" is an internal address. You'll really only
want to access SBS' websites using a VPN into your home network. It's the
most secure way and everything will work better (SBS can set that up for
you)

You say that the Remote Web Workplace website is available from the
Internet, so your problem is one of name resolution that is completely
unrelated to IIS6.

You need to register a Host header that resolves via DNS, make sure NO-IP
forwards that host header to your IP (and SBS server), and then create a new
website using that host-header.

If NO-IP does not forward host header, then you'll need to use it to
redirect by ports and then make sure your website listens on that port.
