I'm running a .asp web application from within a Windows 2003 standard
edition
server. However if one of the clients (running XP-prof) is accessing the
application by requesting its default page the client browser wants to
downlad the requested page. If the same page is requested from another (XP)
client, the content is well written the the client browser. What is causing
the download behaviour of this specific configuration?

Thanks
Hans

I don't think you've described the problem clearly enough - can you restate
it?

Tom,

Thanks for helping me.
The problem is quite simple. I have a intranet application running on a 2003
server. Normally the application is started by issueing http://<server_name
or Ip adress>/<virtual_dir>. IIS retuns the starting page (default.asp with
login parameters) to the client browser. However I have one XP prof system
which presents a dialog for downloading the default.asp.

I have never seen this before and I'm wondering why this happens.

Regards,
Hans

Tom,

No, I don't think so. I'm 100% sure I started the application using
http://<server_name>/<virtual_dir>/
