I have IIS setup. Server 2003 SP1. I have 3 seperate websites I would like to
make accessable via the web.
I have assigned 3 static IP addresses to my NIC and have pointed the home
directories to the individual sites and assigned them thier own static IP
with port 80.
I have a Linksys Wrt54g router running Sveasoft 6. I set up forwarding to
each IP with Port 80 for each, but I cant get to the sites?

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

How does the router know which site to forward the request to?

I have specified unique IP's for each web. therefor, I have entered into the
router these rules
192.168.1.3 -Web1 - Port 80
192.168.1.6 -Web2 - Port 80
192.168.1.9 - Web9 - Port 80

One sites seems to work. My children are learning HTML, and they want thier
friends to get to thier sites. I have assinged DynDns to my router and they
use a specific path to get to thier sites. Me on the other hand, I have a
Domain name, that I forward to the same Dyndns, but a different address than
the kids addresses.
Abyss web server was working, but I want them to work out of seperate
directories than I do.

Hope this helps

So you're saying that the router can forward to the correct internal IP
based on the domain name requested? Which site works, the first one listed?

Yes, the first web works. Is it possible that the router cant translate to
another IP? Limitation on the router? When I have the Abyss Web server
running on another box using Port 80, It takes over from IIS, so I turn the
service off for Abyss and I can get to my first web again..

I think the problem is that the router can only forward requests for a port
to one IP. If you register names for your kids' sites then you can host
them all on the same IP and give the sites host header entries in IIS.

Alternatively, try running their sites on different ports and config your
router to forward those ports to their IPs. If this works, it will confirm
what I'm saying.

Confirmed..As you sent this, I was doing just that. I can only forward port
80 to 1 IP, where I have 3 IP's on one nic. What do I need to do to register
the kids sites?
That is my ultimate goal. For now, I have set them up with ports 81 and
82...but I want them to have the real feel of a website.
Can you send me some info on how to register thier site names?

thanks for your help so far Tom

Registration is done at any of the domain registrars. If you Google
"domain registration" you'll have a ton of links. GoDaddyyyy.com is
popular.

My understanding of your post is that you have one (1) machine, with three
private IPs assigned to it. You do not have three different machines. You
also have only one (1) public IP. Is this correct?

If this is correct, you can do this to run three websites on your machine:

Give the machine only _one_ private IP.
Configure your router to forward all requests on port 80, to this private
IP.
Go to dyndns.org, or somewhere else, to get a domain name for all websites.
In IIS Manager, create three websites, and distinguish them by host header
(you will be asked during the create new website wizard).

Now, you should have three working websites, with three different domain
names. My understanding was that this was what you wanted to do.

Good Luck!
