Hi,

Using IIS 6, How can I see the IP addresses that are connected to webserver?
Is there any monitoring tool that I can use? Can I monitor their activities
and the web pages they are visiting?

I know that I can use netstat -a, But I am looking for some IIS6 bultin
capability or more advance IIS monitoring tool.

Thanks,
Alan

Hi Alan,

For FTP site, there is a built-in dialog to check this: in FTP site's
property, click Current Sessions.

For a WWW site/page active usage analysis, you can query the
information from IIS log. The log parser utiltity can be helpful.
It's included in IIS 6.0 resource kit tools:

IIS 6.0 Resource Kit Tools
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&familyi
d=56fc92ee-a71a-4c73-b628-ade629c89499

and some reference:

Using Log Parser to Read Log Files

For a real-time monitoring, some third-party softwares are good at
it. For example, the recommendations on IISFAQ like WhosOn,
SurfStatsLive... etc:

Try this:

http://www.serverautomationtools.com/webcgi/webbatch.exe?techsupt/tsleft.web=
+Valuable-Third-Party-Tools+IIS-Thread-Monitoring-tool.html

Or

http://www.diamondcs.com.au/portexplorer/

Both will show you who is connected to your server. Which one you is better=
depends on how much control you want. The first program IIStracer will let=
you disconnect the browser.
