Hello,

we have a problem with an Exchange Server where Inetinfo intermittently
crashes, which blocks Mail Traffic till Server rebooted or Services
restarted (System more and more instable).

When this happen, usually we have a popup window on server with such kind of
information:

"Application popup: inetinfo.exe - Application Error : The instruction at
"0x77f856af" referenced memory at "0x3c09090a". The memory could not be
"written".

or other message

like

Die Anweisung in "0x7789d134" verweist auf Speicher in "0x00000000". Der
Vorgang "read" konnte nicht auf dem Speicher durchgeführt werden.

Configuration is:
- Windows 2000 SP4 with all patches
- Exchange 2000 with SP3, Rollup Patches and all new security patches
- Norton Symantec Antivirus 4.5 => only SMTP Exchange protection (rest of
Server is protected through antivirus gateway from Sonicwall)
- Antispam Software Mail Storage Guard ftom Mapilab
- 768 MB RAM, enough disk space

What we already did:
- uninstall antivirus on file basis (exchange directories and files excluded
like it shoud be)
- reinstall and reconfigure II Server => solved the stability problem during
about 1 month (with some crashes during night)
- uninstall Symantec Antivirus 4.5 and Reinstallation
- uninstall of Antispam Software and reinstall

Problem still persists, so now we started a crash logging with iisstate and
post the log in this newsgroup.

Next job would be to uninstall definitively antispam software and update
antivirus symantec on version 5 (but first we would like to know if this is
the right direction to solve the problem)

Any help and/or tip to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance for help

Pascal
