I have no idea what I have done, but If i use the IWAM_machine account to
run the IIS service under, the service will not start --UNLESS --- I put the
IWAM account in the domain admins security group.

I am running IIS 6, and windows 2000 server. I guess that this means the
permissions on the IWAM account, or on the NTFS filesystem are wrong - but I
cannot fins any documentation that gives mw the default settings.

Can anyone help me - I don't want ot leave the IWAM account in Domain admins
group.

Cheers,

Kevin

You said that you are running IIS 6.0 and refer to the IIS service. That
would be the W3SVC service (in services the common name is WORLD WIDE WEB
PUBLISHING) which runs under LOCAL SYSTEM account, not IWAM.
