Hi guys,

Just setting up IIS on a 2000 server (with Citrix XenApp) but have run into
a problem I can not get around.

I keep getting these two errors:

The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT'. The error was
'The server process could not be started because the configured identity is
incorrect.

DCOM got error "Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested
logon type at this computer. " and was unable to logon .\IWAM_MACHINENAME in
order to run the server:

And IWAM_MACHINENAME does not show in my AD listings (nor does
IUSER_MACHINENAME).

So how do I grant the correct logon rights?

But it is best to share it with the group.

The IWAM and IUSR accounts are local accounts. You will not find them
in the AD.

It sounds like this machine is joined to a domain, is not the domain
controller, but there is domain Group Policy which constricts the
privileges of the local groups that those local accounts are member
of, when you joined the machine to the domain.

You'll need to tweak the domain's security policy to relax those
constrictions. It is most likely related to the privileges of
anonymous users.
