Http 500 internal server error IIS 5

hi,
my problem is typical i need some help please

"HTTP 500 - Internal server error" when trying to log to http://localhost
"The requested resource is in use." when i disapled the show friendly HTTP error messages

the problem started when I was working on ArcIMS 4.0.1 then for some reason i got this message (microsoft internet explorer "unable to continue" ) so i had to uninstall the softwares and when i reinstalled them back the HTTP 500 error came in. i tryed to Unistall IIS and Reinstall it back but i still getting the same error message.

if anyone knows the solution please let me kno

How about event log entries and the full error message?

Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer

As for the full error message, do what you did to get the error, copy
it and paste it into your post.
