Hello,
What version of IIS are you running on this server?
- If this is IIS4 on Windows NT, then make sure the option "Run in seperate
memory space" is unchecked in the Website properties-> Home directory tab.
- If this is IIS5 on Windows 2000, IIS5.1 on Windows XP or IIS6 on Windows
2003 (running in IIS5 mode), then set the Application protection to Low
under the Home directory tab.
- If this is IIS6 on Windows 2003, make sure the Microsoft SharePoint
Administration site is started.

Do you have RightSite installed on this server? If yes, then it is known
to cause this error with Front Page Server extensions.
You mentioned that you are not experiencing any problems- are you using
FPSE at all?? If your sites do not require FPSE, then you might as well
uninstall Front page server extensions.

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks,
