Errors installing IIS on Win2k

Windows 2000 Pro with all updates installed.
I am trying to install the SMTP service component of IIS. I could not see
the virtual server in the snapin. I have worked backwards to some errors I
see in the IIS install log (C:\WINNT\iis5.log). I completely removed IIS,
renamed the log file and installed from the MSDN Windows 2000 Pro CD.

Here is the beginning bits of the log files followed by the two errors I
see:

Thanks for the suggestion. I had already been through all the "normal"
checks. I narrowed it down to some errors in the IIS install log and then
used filemon to determine the problem. It ended up I had an incorrectly
registered dll (atl.dll) from some installation/uninstallation testing I was
doing. Once I correct that everything worked as anticipated.
