Hi,

I have created a new Web site on my IIS server. This is in addition to the
default web site. Here are the details:

Domain name: testdomain.com
Server IP Address: 192.168.1.23
Servername: SRVR10
Host Header Name: relocation
Web site IP Address: "All Unasigned"
Port: 80

I have created a Host record in my local DNS and checked the box to create
the associated PTR record for relocation.testdomain.com for 192.168.1.23. I
then try to browse to relocation.testdomain.com and it doesn't work. Can
anyone tell me what else I need to do to access this website via
relocation.testdomain.com? By the way, the site has been started. I have
tried to set the websties IP address to 192.168.1.23 and restart it but it
didn't help.

TIA,

Jarryd

You have set the host header to "relocation". But you use a host header
value of relocation.testdomain.com when you browse to the site. So that
seems to be something you have done wrong.

OK,

Got it. So you enter the fqdn and not just the host name. Did that and now
it works. How silly of me not to think of it.

Cheers,
