Hi group,

I'm running Vista Ultimate with the new IIS MMC snapin for IIS7. I can't
figure out how to connect to another machine. Even when I use the <right
click My Computer--Manage> predefined MMC tempate and choose to manage
another machine, the IIS snap-in is still connected to my local machine.
Also, if I try to create my own MMC console, when I add the IIS snap-in, I'm
not asked what machine this is for the way it used to behave. CAn anyone
tell me how to use the new IIS snap-in to connect to another web server?

Thank you,

Hi Ray,

I do not believe the functionality to do this is in the IIS MMC console that
shipped with Vista. I asked the PG about this, and was told that this
functionality should ship later on. It does exist in Longhorn Server, so
presumably it will be in Vista SP1, which will update Vista to Longhorn
functionality.

Cheers
Ken

That's insane. But at least I feel less crazy now. Thanks Ken!
