We tested a web site today running PWS on W98 and ran into
connections limit. I am having trouble finding specifics
on it but saw that IIS 5 on Win2K has a limit of 10. i
presume the limit is that or less for PWS ??? Anyway, I
have NT4 and wondered if IIS 4 had the same limitations
and what, if anything, is the option that disables the
count for inactive users.

I have been able to track down various articles about this
but cannot seem to piece together all of the issues.

Additionally, given the above, what is my best but least
expensive solution? A small computer running SBS2003?
Suggestions?

Thanks!

workstation versions only support 10 clients. if you need more, buy the
server version of windows

Workstation OS's are limited to ten concurrent connections. What
constitutes a concurrent connection isn't what you assume, and a
number of connections may be made for a single user.

SBS is (finally) reasonably priced and a good choice. Perhaps Server
2003 Web edition will suit you. At any rate, a server OS is your
answer.
