I have come to my wits end trying to figure this out. So any assistance is
appreciated.
I have a Windows 2003 server with 2 web sites on it. The one I have
problems with is the default web site that also is the front end for OWA
Rather than have users browse to https://outlook.company.com/exchange I want
to have them go to http://outlook.company.com/index.htm that provides
information about the new site and a link to the secure site.
My problem is this: I can enter https://outlook.company.com/exchange and
all is well. When I try to browse to ANY file at http://outlook.company.com/
I get the Page cannot be displayed and a cannot find server error. I get
this from the server itself on the MMC or IE. I tried creating a test.txt
with the same results. I can use the Windows Explorer and bring up the files
just fine.
I created a new site with the test.txt and it works fine. The permissions
(site/NTFS)look fine. Nothing special there.
Restarting IIS, rebooting, and evil looks have not worked. A service packs
and patches are up to date.
