I am trying to connect to a FTP site configured to use Active
Directory isolation. I am using 2003 AD, and tried everything
mentioned in Microsoft documentation and news groups to connect to
this FTP site.

Can some one please direct me to a simple procedure that explains the
steps to take in order to achive this?

In every configuration I get the same error in the event viewer:
"User asdf failed to log on, could not access the home directory /."

Thanks,
Shai

Hi Bernard,

Let me write exactly what I am doing:

1. Create FTP site and choosing "using Active Directory to isolate
users..." mode (I am using 2003 Active-Directory). In this case there
is no place in the create FTP wizard to put in home directory for the
FTP site.
2. Create a user under Active Directory called "asdf" (created under
the Users OU)
3. assigning the user I created the following:
msIIS-FTPDir gets the value <DIRECTORY_PATH> (example
"c:\myftp\asdf")
msIIS-FTPRoot gets the value <COMPUTER_NAME> (example DOTNET1)

I have tried all the combinations I could think of with these
properties, and with no success. (also tried to put the msIIS-FTPDir
value c:\inetpub\ftproot\localuser\asdf with no success)

I still get the same error in the event viewer:
"User asdf failed to log on, could not access the home directory /."

Could you please help me to figure out how the above should be
accomplished?
I also do not understand how is the user account (AD user) and FTP
site connection is achieved?

Thanks again,
Shai

If any one knows the answer to the problems/questions below please
reply - this is a very common task with W2K3 that I am sure many will
need...

Thanks
