Cannot login to Front page Administration

I have a windows 2003 WEb edition server with about 20 web sites. REcently
did a lot of windows updates and ahd some prolems but all are applied now.

I also renamed the server but later renamed it back to what it was before

About half the sites have from apge extentions

I now have realized that I can not log into the administration web site for
any of them

Here is the crazy thing

1. I log into the server itself fine
2. I can log the the main frantpage server administration site as
administrator fine
3, from I clent PC I can open a front page web that I host as administrator
fine

but When I try to log into the adminstration site for the individual
websites I cna not log in as Administrator or anythng else

I have tried unintall and reinstall FP Extentions of a few sites to no avail

PLEASE HELP

I am SOOO feeling your pain. I too have a similar problem. I am using host headers, but doubt that is the cause, have checked NTFS and every possible permissions thing I can think of, but nothing is helping. Please help is right.

Are the proper groups added to each of the website's directories. Each site
should have their own OWS_* directory that has the proper special rights.

I have the same problem. My current workaround is to log in remotely from
my workstation.

Weird how I can access the FP Admin from my desktop remotely, but not
locally on the server.

Thanks foe the tip Christopher I too just found I could get in from my
desktop remotely.............very weird. At lease it gets me out of a big
jam for now
