Hello All,

Will IIS work on Cox Cable San Diego?

I cannot find any open ports. Does Cox block them all?

Cheers,

Neal

Well, it depends. Do you have a home account or a business account? If
it's a home account, then there is no expectation by the ISP (Cox) to have
you hosting a server.

Hello,

IIS does not care at all who your ISP is. So yes, IIS will work on Cox
Cable San Diego.

Your ISP may however block necessary ports, filter outgoing HTTP traffic,
give you a private IP and more, that will prevent you from running a
webserver (which will be the same for Apache and other webservers).

I think that the best thing to do is to ask your ISP if you are allowed to
run a webserver.
