    - asp vs. asp.net, how different they are on runtime environment? Help please! I am having trouble to use serverxmlhttp & winhttp from ASP.net, although in the same web application my asp code works fine. The error code returned from the cryptographic module is 0xffffffff. " I wrap the piece of C# code into a console application, login as either iUSR or IWAM, and have no trouble. Therefore, I believe the client certificate is ok, otherwise the asp and the console app won't work. I aslo believe there must be something wrong when iis runs the asp.net application.     - problem with voice server and IIS6 Win2003 web edition I have been putiing my hair out in clumps.. Purchased a dedicated server, Windows 2003 web edition with IIS6 installed. I installed a team speak server for my boys, all 60 of us. The Teamspeak server runs fine, no problems with that, but there is a webadmin function that wont work with the ip of the server. need that for my more dedicated members to handle everyday issues... To connect the teamspeak client (a seperate progam) to my TSserver you use http://my.ip.add:8767 and this works great, so at least i know 8767 is open. Now the TS server has httpdocs that are all .html My ip alone will load the default web on port 80, no problem The address http://localhost:14534/ loads the webadmin fot TS(httpdocs)when im using remote desktop on the server. If I use the IP inplace of localhost from my home desktop no joy. I have tried, 1) Using local security policy, self managed firewall, making sure that ports 14534 and 51234 are not being blocked. 2) I have reset security settings for the folder and subfolders that the Teamspeak program resides in and gave the account IUSER_blabla 3) I have even tried creating a web and directing it to the httpdocs folder, enabling anonomous access (the script handles auth) and also allowed server side includes. when I open the side I get , %%INCLUDE%header.html% bla bla %%INCLUDE%footer.html% To be honest, im prety shure Im not supposed to have to do this, The TeamspeakServer for windows is a server in it self.     - IIS 5 setting web admin to a local group rather than administrator I have IIS 5 installed on a windows 2000 member server. The IIS is working fine. What I now need to do is to provide the ability for members of a localgroup (eg WebAdmins) to administer all IIS Function. What follows is what I have done so far. At the server properties I have added the local group (WebAdmins) in the Operators tab. This has flowed to the default website and the virtual webs. I have allowed WebAdmins the ability to log on locally as well as access accross the network. I have added WebAdmins with Full Control file permissions to the INET folder and all subfolders as well as the c:\winnt\system32\inetsrv folder tree. The Directory Security is set to only use Windows NT Challenge. When I connect to the IIS server using the IIS snap in I succesfully connect to the server but when I go to expand the Web Sites folder I receive a message stating "There are no items to show in this view". (Note when I connect using the IIS server admin credentials it all works fine) Could someone please inform me of how to get a local group member able to administer the IIS without being a local administrator equivalent.     - Moving OWA to another site I currently have OWA (Exchange 2000) running on IIS 5 and is configured at http://www.domain.com/exchange I would like to have it set for http://mail.domain.com. I've configured both my internal and external dns servers with a mail.domain.com hosts. That's pretty much where my knowledge ends. I've created a mail.domain.com website in IIS and attempted to direct the home directory to: M:\domain.com\mdx and that didn't do anything for me.     - using a windows 2000 computer for access to documents on our intranet system I have a group who need to post documents for access inside a firewall. These documents are pdf format they are huge. There are at least 50,000 documents which are appoximately 50GB plus in size. I was told that we could set up a computer running windows 2000 and configure IIS for read, place a DNS entry for this computer in our DNS server and then place a link on our intranet site which will then go to the Windows 2000 computer.     - Different Error Pages Hello, IIS5. When browsing my test site, located on a local server, from my PC, when there is an error (say, in the ASP code), I get a simple 500 error page. Its the one that does not have the technical information that says what's wrong. However, when I surf the site from the server it is housed on, I get the 500 error page, but it includes the technical information.     - IIS 5.0 FTP Error 426 Hello there, I recently installed a FTP Server under Windows 2000 Advanced Server (IIS 5). I have also created a site, set the appropriate permissions on the necessary files(a little bit too tighten, but...). Before, there was another IIS FTP Server, on an NT 4.0 Server which worked fine, no errors at the transfer. There is no firewall or nat between the server and client. The client is an unix system. The client is in Passive Mode. Connecting it with the FTP server, sometimes the file transfer below can be accomplished, but sometimes i get the 426 Error. This behaviour seems to be random. When i get this error, the file is created, but the size is 0.     - IIS and SUS Problem Installed a new server (Hardware upgrade) that replaced a server that was a Domain Controller(thru dcpromo), that was running SUS, installed SUS on the new W2K server that is a Domain Controller with the same Name and IP address, also is a DNS server (just like the previous one).     - Problem Configuring Custom Error Pages Hello, I have a folder under the Default Web Site called BRNBackup (which I use as a testing site locally). Anyway, on the folder properties, under Custom Error Pages, I changed error 404 to URL and the URL to /404.asp.     - Unable to manage remote IIS servers from MMC Recently I've been unable to manage IIS from mmc (right click My Computer and select manage) for remote machines only. I can connect to the remote machine and view event logs and other data but on clicking the services and applications node I'm informed "Error connecting to brk-web-svr-002. Unexpected error 0x8007011c. Do you wish to attempt to connect in future?" and given the choices yes or no. I can then access all services but the IIS section does not appear. This occurs for all remote machines although I can manage my local IIS service and manage the servers from other machines. It used to work a few weeks back but I regularly do windows update so that may have broken it. The servers are all on the company domain as am I, either lan or wan. I can ping them, view them in Network Neighborhood and use shares on them. I can VNC onto them which is what I'm having to do at the moment. I'm a member of Domain Admins.     - ASP Cache - File server Hello! Im trying to install a file server, x numbers of webservers will work to that. This works perfect - once! After that I have to enter a username/password to be able to read asp-files. There are no problems with reading images and .html-files (Not included in ISAPI-cache?) If I disable the cache function then everything works perfect, but I suppose this will affect the performance alot so that is not what I want...     - File download with IIS6.0 Hi there, I'm having trouble with my first IIS6.0 on Windows Server 2003. The web site works fine: all ASP pages are processed and displayed normally. The problem is we are not able to download any files from the site (pdf, zip, doc, ...) When you click on a link pointing to one of these files (or if you write the file's absolute URL in the address bar of IE) you get the normal Open or Save as dialog. Whichever option you choose, the next window is an error message stating that the file cannot be downloaded. The strange part is that everything else is working fine, it is file download what fails, exclusively. Is this something that needs to be enabled in IIS6.0? Do you know anything about this issue? After shutting my machine down and restarting it now I'm unable to debug any of my apps Error while trying to run project: Unable to start dbugging on the webserver. You do not have permissions to debug the server. Verify that you are a member of the 'Debugger Users' group on the server Looking into the IIS console surprised me a little bit: Each application lost it's application name but the Remove button was there! So I removed the 'hidden' name and created it again. But this didn't solve anything. I also tried to start a complete new application - same error Me logon accout MYNAME is member of the group DEBUGGER USERS.     - IE won't get page with no form data I realize this might not be the correct group, but then perhaps the solution may exist in an IIS setting. I've a an .ASP page that has a form that actions back to itself. When I get to the end of the sequence of tasks necessary, I want to be able to go back to the "virgin" state. When IE6 (and maybe other versions and brands of browsers) has the page's URL resent to the server, it's as if all the form variables are still attached - which they probably are. Only by clicking the Back button (or the Back Dropdown list) can I get back to the "virgin" state - the state that has no form data attached to the HTTP request. server.
Everything works fine, except users are prompted several times for
authentication. And they are continually prompted while surfing the OWA
folders or writing new messages...
I used basic authentication method.

Any hint will be much appreciated!!

Try to set the basic authetication for http protocol in
Exchange Server and IIS Directory security. Either should
be equals.

Put the domain (yourdomain.com) in either sets.
