My computer started crashing when it tries to load documents this week.
Crystal reports, Word, and Excel.

After searching extensively for an answer, I found some information about a
hotfix for what appears to be a similar problem:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830461/

830461 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830461/) FIX: "The memory
could not be 'read'" error message when your .NET Framework application is
under heavy load .NET Framework

I'm running Windows 2000, .net 1.1

Where can I find this file?

Any files that are in the KBs and not released as official patches are only
available through PSS (product support services). You make the call and they
will not charge you if your problem is fixed by the patch, but will charge if
they have to fix it via non patch machines (like, did you remember to "").

For this reason, I would run windowsupdate.microsoft.com and
officeupdate.microsoft.com and make sure you are fully up to date on
everything. If a known updater fixes your problem, it will be a cheaper
solution.
