    - timeout to NTD winform hello i write a simple winform app to test the NTD(no-touch deployment) feature of dot net,after deploy it to the iis server,it works well,i can invoke it from either commandline or ie browser. but i found that after it is started up ,i IGNORE it,that means i don't operate it,after a wile,it is automatically closed.why,are there some .net configuration to incharge the timeout? how can i make the winform app that start from the GAC keep PERMANENTLY running in the client side,even no body touch it. thank you!!     - HTTP violation Hi I've made a part of a program that makes a http web request with .net classes HttpWebRequest and HttpWebResponse. It's been working fine up til now when one of our customers has been recieving the following WebException: "The underlying connection was closed: The server committed an HTTP protocol violation. " I've been "googling" a bit and read that it might help to set the KeepAlive property to false and set the http version to 1.0, but neither have helped.     - Repeater Problems in Framework 2.0 Hi, Quick Question. I am having problems with nesting repeaters in the Framework 2.0. The code below works in framework 1.0 & 1.1, but does not in 2.0. The inner repeater does not appear to bind properly. I am using the Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition and the framework which is downloaded with it (downloaded 2 days ago).     - Key processing in .NET Is there any good article about processing keys in .net ? I see things like ProcessDialogKey, IsInputKey, IsInputChar, and mentions of preprocessing certain keys, and the whole area is confusing to me without a good general explanation. In Win32 I can override WM_GETDLGCODE in my derived control to handle certain dialog keys directly in my control ( arrows, tabs ). The documentation on processing keys which I am trying to understand does not make it plain how I can use the .net functionality to do what I want to do rather.     - Design issue with O/R mapping Hi. Im have asked for recommendation regarding the best production ready O/R mapping tools for .net. I got that. Since im an old, ok maybe not old (only 27), Java programmer patterns and developement with tiers is of great importance for me. I have a problem with the famours anti-pattern Tier leakage. In the Java world I used POJO´s (simple java classes) as value objects. These value objects was used for cayrring data between the tiers. So if i changed the persistence tier the rest of the code still relyed in the same POJO´s. Now with the .net O/R they all genereate eg. EmployeeEntity wich inherit from EntityBase2 (LLBL PRO). If I pass the object from my persistence layer to the business layer and down to the view I have just made a seriuos "maintaince bug" the "tier leakage". If i wanna use eg. the EntityBroker im so to say fucked. I have to refactor ALL and EVERY class witch depend on the EmployeEntity. Have anyone thougt about this and come up with an solution? Is the persistence tools wich can map PURE c# classes to realtionel classes as the Java Hibernate? And why have so few chosen this way of doing it? Is it hard to map eg. Customer c = new Customer(); // fill object adapter.SaveEntity(c); And go find what this Customer really maps to int the Database?     - Method RVAs: offset or VA? Greetings, I'm writing an application that uses the Profiler API and the unmanaged metadata API to obtain metadata for modules from the ICorProfilerCallback::ModuleLoadFinished() event as well as for executables that I map into memory myself. In both cases I'm able to obtain the IModuleInfo iface and enumerate the methods. I've noticed that the method RVA returned by GetMethodProps() is sometimes a real RVA and sometimes an offset. This causes havok because I'm trying to access the method's bytecode in memory. If its an RVA I have to call ImageRvaToVa(), otherwise I just have to add it to the base load address. It seems to be treated as an offset if the CLR has loaded the module and as a RVA if the file was manually mapped into memory. Is this true? Strangely, Rotor always treats it as an RVA. If you look at CorMap::ReadHeaders() in cormap.cpp in Rotor you'll see a magic flag called bDataMap that proves that RVAs have a dual nature. Right now I have a kludge that calls ImageRvaToVa() and examines the first byte of the returned ptr. If its not TinyFormat or FatFormat then I treat the RVA as an offset. Is there a way, given a module's base load address, or perhaps a flag in the MethodProps, to determine if its RVAs are really RVAs or if they are offsets?     - Windows DataGrid client area is not redrawn after grid is refilled Hi, I have a problem with Windows forms datagrid control. This problem appeared only after I have installed .net framework 1.1 service pack1. Basically after grid is refilled either with new datatable or a view derived from that datatable I can see a gray cell on the client area of the grid if grid is empty (meaning that underlying datatable did not have any rows). If on the other hand grid is refilled with some data I can see a cell that was definitely left over from previous datatable. I suspect that when Microsoft released sp1 they messed up something in internal implementation of paint capablities of the grid control. So, my question is this.     - Performance counter installer breaks service installers? Hello, I ran into a strange problem related to performance counter and service installers. I created a windows service using C#, VS.NET 2003 and framework 1.1 SP1. Everything went smooth and I got the service up and running. Later, I added some performance counters to the service by dragging them from the toolbox to the design view of the service. I set the properties of the counters, and created installers for the counters. When it was time to deploy the service, the problems began. "InstallUtil MyService.exe" executes smoothly without exceptions. But the services MMC-snapin shows no startup type for the service. Clicking properties or trying to start the service results in an error message "The system cannot find the file specified." After some investigation, I noticed that if I remove the performance counter installer calls from the code generated by Visual Studio, service installation works again. This led me to investigate the differences in the registry after installing the service with the two variations. When the performance counter installer calls are present, the HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MyService key contains no values. However, when I remove the performance counter installer calls, the same key contains the following values: ErrorControl, ImagePath, ObjectName, Start and Type. The service also starts just fine, and its properties are available through the Services MMC snap-in. The logical conclusion is that the performance counter installers break the install process, even though there are no error messages. I can get the method easy enough, but the Invoke method of MethodInfo states that it calls the correct virtual method based on the passed in instance type. This line works fine on the local box as well as accessing a Windows NT 4.0 or 200x Server drive. This issue is only with Novell Drives.     - Debugging in IIS My co-worker and I can not seem to set up our IIS environment to allow debugging if we are both working on projects. The server is win2K sp4, IIS 5, ASPNET version is 1.1, Visual Studio is 2003. Our working directory is on the "D" drive in a folder called ASP_Net_Projects and we have made this folder the home directory of our default website in IIS. We are both members of the debuggers group, and that group has full control of our working directory. We still get errors when we are both debugging. The error is that there is another instance of the debugger running and the machine can not start another. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
