We are looking for help getting NET Framework to install on our computer.
We started by trying to install Quickbooks 2005 which seems to start by
installing net framework but it failed to install. So we downloaded it from
Microsoft's website. This also failed to install. We are using W2000 and it
is fully updated. The installation only just starts before the message
"setup failed contact product support" with no error number. We have
serched the archives and find many similar problems but have not been able
to get a positive result from this info. Any help would be greatly
appreciated! Thank you.

There should be an install log, although I am not sure where it puts it for
the Framework only install. I will see if I can hunt this down. If you can
find the install log, you will have a better shot of seeing where the failure
is.

Like most software, TSRs are the first place to look. Virus Scanners are the
most notorious for bombing installs, but it could be any terminate and stay
resident program.

Thank you very much for responding. I looked in the event log and had
nothing there. The initial time it failed was when trying to install Qbooks
if that would leave a trail. When it tries to install it dosent make it far
before saying it failed (scrolls maybe three times across, 2 seconds)I am
not familiar with looking for install logs so help in that would be
appreciated. I have NAV turned off and the rest in the system tray
dissabled with no affect. The one thing we have on this machine is a thing
called "pc expanion" that allows 2 users on the same machine at once. But I
have that dissabled for the install. Thanks again for your help!
