I have a form with a hidden fied on my web page. Is it possible to make the
value of this field the same as the value of a hidden field in a different

I have noticed that there is already predefined series of themes. I assume
they are css file(s), images, and whatever resources.

ADODB Command Error
I have recently added a database query to Frontpage using the Database
Interface Wizard. After publishing and testing, the query returns the
following error message:
ADODB.Command error '800a0cc1'
Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the requested name
or ordinal.
It then references the following: _fpclass/fpdbrgn1.inc, line 408
Can anyone give me an idea how to fix this problem?

Reseting Form Fields
I've set up a drop down menu and text field for my customers to specify
certain criteria when ordering goods however when they click the "Add to
Basket" I want these two Form Fields to be reset to their initial values - in
the case of the text filed blank.
Anyone know how this can be done?

Hi,
I've designed a simple form and want the data to be emailed to me. However,
when you click the submit button all that happens is that outlook opens but
the data is not in the body of the email - the cursor is in the to line in
the email message.

Creating and editing shock wave flash buttons in FrontPage
Paid a clever kid to design and publish my website and he went away to college.
Now I'm left to administer and update the website in FrontPage. Being the
cheap and thrifty dinosaur that I am I am running FrontPage 98 on an XP Home
platform.
Downloaded the entire website to my office machine, opened it in FrontPage,
and saved it on the hard drive as a FrontPage Web. DC'd on the home page in
the navigation pane and that's where my trouble started. The website is done
in frames and the sidebar frame contains flash buttons that navigate the
website.
The butons do not look anything like they do on the website, in fact they
look like they are fubar'd; however, they do look normal when you click on
the preview tab.
Seeing them look normal on the preview tab reassured me and I started
editing changes and additions to pages and was fat, dumb, and happy getting
this done.
After I was done making changes and additions and had everything saved I
closed all the website files and went to test and preview the updates before
publishing.
My updated home page looked great and I went clicking my way through the
site to check everything I had changed. On the last page I went to I clicked
on the home button and guess what, the old home page banner came up without
my changes.
After 2 to 3 days of poking around in the site's HTML and info on Microsoft
and Macromedia sites I came to the conclusion that the button sent me to the
old home page banner because the button was pointed the swf file via the
site's URL instead of being pointed at the file via the directory name (both
the sidebar.htm file and the button??.swf file are in the same directory).
At this point I realized I was going to have to edit the swf files and
realized I had crossed the threshhold from being in a little trouble to being
in deep doo-doo.
I cannot find a way to edit the information the swf files. FrontPage editor
will not load the swf files. Every time I try to load one of them I get an
error message that it's not compatible with FrontPage. What's my next step?

I edit my site with Front Page2000 and the pages are Hebrew local - though
the text is entirely in English. My goal is to get better ranking in the
English Search Engine Google (in hebrew its not imported).
So far Its always higher in the Hebrew Google than in the English.
Would it be better modifying the properties of all pages to English?

Search form to Database sort
Sorry to probably bring up an old question.... I've searched thru the
frontpage websites I know and can't find the answer.
I have a database called HELPWANTEDADS.
It has ADNUMBER, TITLE, DESC, COUNTY as fields in Access.
I can send a search from a text box form to do a keyword search and it will
pull up any record that contains the keyword.
I use the CRITERIA setting in DRW for that.
Question: I want to add a drop down box for TITLE and another one for COUNTY
and the KEYWORD input box on a single form.
If the user selects a county only (no KEYWORD or TITLE) the results
should only show the COUNTY matches.
If the user selects a COUNTY and a KEYWORD the result should show only
data containing the KEYWORD sorted by the COUNTY selected.
If the user selects a TITLE and a COUNTY and a KEYWORD the result should
show only data that contains the KEYWORD sorted by the TITLE and sorted by
the county COUNTY.
I think I need a special asp query statement but I am not sure how it should
formatted... or is there a way thru DRW and my brain synapsis are not firing
right.

HTML coding and Windows Media Player
I would like to know why the following coding for Windows Media Player does
not give me access to the fast forward/rewind buttons on the control bar?
These buttons are greyed-out. I have the Play-Pause-Stop-Mute-Volume Control

How do I access FrontPage from IE6 "File" drop down
I can access the web site to edit it from my desktop computer by clicking on

Help needed with event registration form/PayPal/Email results
Hi folks,
I'm trying to create a registration form for an event my client is hosting
and I'm having a bit of a problem. I'm hoping someone can help out here.
Ideally the flow should look like this:
1. User fills out the form
2. Validation (obviously)
3. When validated the form is submitted to email
4. The user is redirected to PayPal to pay for the registration fee (and
any associated costs for rooms, etc.)
I'd rather not deal with database integration at this point since it would
mean something else I need to learn before the job gets done. I'd like to
use the webbot for submitting the form by email (or some other behind the
scenes mailing, although I don't know what I would use). What I can't figure
out is how to get the PayPal redirect working.
Is there a way to pass the variables that PayPal needs to the confirmation
page and use the confirmation page as a form for PayPal?
Is there a way to have one page submit to both the webbot and to PayPal?
I am using FrontPage 2002. I know my server has php and ASP capabilities,
but I've never used them before.

I need to make a custom E-mail form. I am complete beginner with ASP. I found
2 examples of form. One has the extension .ASP and the other .ASPX
(developped with ASP .NET). I can preview locally the .ASP form in Internet
Explorer but not with .ASPX (it shows the source code instead), why ?

Generating an automated email message
Here is what I am envisioning. The user completes a small html form (7
fields) and upon clicking the submit button, I would like an email generated
to a distribution group containing both the data entered on the html form
along with other information the recipient requires. If the ability was
there to email a confirmation page, that would be awesome.
The Email Results functionality in FP does not help me in the issue. Let me
through another piece into this scenario. If I choose to use an asp page to
store the data on my sql server, am I able to also email a confirmation page
to a distribution group.
Of course, I am open to other suggestions as well.

FrontPage error on form that sends email
I have a weired issue. I have a form that 6 textboxes 5 which are required 1
is not. The form captures the user data and sends it to me by email. The form
can be viewed at www.reef-log.com/product_activation.htm
This form sends an email when the send request button is pressed to
keyrequest@reef-log.com.
This form works on the machine that I develop my website on, but it will not
work on any other machine I test it on it simply says FrontPage Error User
please report details to this sites webmaster.
This form uses tables to align the text labels and textboxes but this should
not make a difference surely.
I use FP 2003 SP2

now To whom it may concern,
Example: I opened a web site. I click on a linked pdf. The pdf opens. I
want to go back to the web site. I close the pdf. It does not go back to the
web site, but it closes that web site. If I use the back button, it does go
back to that web site. I would like for it to go back to the web site when I
close the pdf.
What is the programming or procedure I need for it to do to go back to the

I have a website containing forms that worked before I went on three
weeks holidays, when I came back all forms that access data from an
access database have the following error where the field from the

Database Navigation buttons not centered
In Frontpage 2003, in the "Database results region", 4 buttons are inserted
at the last row of the table to navigate in the database. The problem is that
they are displayed at the top of the cell, they are not centered vertically
in the cell. I tried to change that in the cell properties but nothing

Shorter format for Date field from Access

I'm using Frontpage 2002, Access 2002 and IIS 5.1 on my workstation. In the
database I have a Date/Time field that I will present in a shorter format in
Frontpage. I can't find another way to do it except with a SQL-statement. It
works fine in Access and when i verify it in Frontpage Database Results
properties but in the browser I get an error:

Open Images
I have a hyperlink to an image which opens to its own window. The image is
larger than the screen size so normally shrinks to fit in whatever the
window size is. Can I have the same link but the image to open at full size
and you have to use the scroll bars to view the whole image.

XHTML vs HTML
I have been maintaining a web site for several years now. I am currently
using FrontPage 2003. The company that owns the site hired a marketing firm
who has told my client the site needs to be redesign using XHTML and HTML no
longer cuts it.

1- Is there any validity to their statement?
2- will FrontPage 2003 support XHTML? I don't see it as an option.

Horizontel Scroll Bar
I posted the question in a different manner earlier. Aplogies. Here is my
questions: How can I get rid of a scroll bar on the bottom of the page (I
