 - How do I insert a ScreenTip for a word without hyperlinking that w I want to have a ScreenTip definition pop up for visitors to my site who run their mouse pointers over a technical word. I do not want this word to be hyperlinked. The word will just be in a different color, not underlined. For example, the ScreenTip for alopecia would be "hair loss."  - Accessing FrontPage Someone said I had to click on the 'Edit Via FrontPage' option to access and edit a web page. Where exactly is this? I can't seem to get into FrontPage at all. On my Programs list is an entry for Internet Explorer which has a subentry for FrontPage Express. When I click on it I can choose 'File' 'Open' and enter the web address, but it locks up my machine.  - display database results as gallery Is it possible to display frontpage database results in gallery format and with direct page numbering and linking - and with possibly the a link that will display all results on one page in a gallery format, maybe 3 or 4 columns wide? All I seem to have available currently are arrows that allow me to scoll through database results only one page at a time and with only one column of results.  - table - cell and row spacing I see in many web pages that the header and left side are flushed and run seemly into each other with a background color. I have created a table and always get spaces between the cells even if I select 0 for the spacing and padding. Is there any way I can force the cells to not create spaces in the browsers.  - Changing BG via buttons I added some buttons to the top of an Include page (so the buttons will appear at the top of all pages) to let the reader change the current image background, but the buttons won't work.  - Downloads from FP2000 page Hello, When visiting the form http://www.freisco.com/steals.htm, and double click on the "Jan 27, 2005" link; I get a different response depending on the browser in use. Using IE, the *.rtf file spawns itself onscreen. Using NetScape, I get the option box of "open using Word" or "save to disk" options. Is there a way I can control this mechanism? Ideally I'd like the user to get just the NetScape solution and not get the report spawned on their desktop. FWIW - I generate the report using Access 2000, then upload the *.rtf file to my site, then go to FP2K and establish the link to deliver the report upon request.  - FrontPage 2003 Theme Image Updating Hi, I am having a problem in FrontPage 2003, in which I have changed some graphics in a theme, and it update one graphic, but when I changed two additional graphics, they did not update. 1) from the menu, Format, Theme 2) right click In-Motion 3) Customize 4) Vertical Navigation 5) Changed selected picture graphic, and it changed fine. 6) Repeat steps 1-5, and change "selected graphic" and "hovered graphic". Neither of these would update. Also if I look in the "derived" directory for the website, the names of the graphics did not change. Does anyone know a workaround for this (appears to be a bug in FrontPage)? Is there some way to "force" FrontPage to update or refresh the website's derived files directory, because this directory seems to hold the graphics for the web pages? Thank you.  - web form I would like to add a web form to my website, but I don't care for the validation "messages" that FrontPage sends when a required field(s) are not entered. For instance, if COMMENTS field is required and it is not entered, the message sent back on submit is.... Please enter value for the "Comment" field. I would prefer that it would say something like "Please enter Comment Information", or something else more professional sounding than the "generic" message that FrontPage sends; preferably a message that I can control. Is there any way to change the validation "messages" in FrontPage or is there some software or add-on available for creating professional forms. I tried searching Yahoo & Google and didn't find anything helpful. I did find some products that sounded promising, but the information in the my web forms would be sent to "their" servers and I don't want that. Appreciate any information you can give me.  - W3Cs validator finding fault with nonexistent code When I use W3C's validator, I get warning messages that don't apply to the page.  - CSS, Javascript, and Netscape I have a horizontal navigation menubar with five links. It is built with CSS inline style. Below it is a horizontal submenu bar. Each submenu bar initially is visibility: hidden, and when the user moves the mouse over the main level menu item, I wrote javascript telling the browser to display the appropriate submenu. The menu works great in IE but the submenus never become visible in Netscape. I like this menu style because it is similar to the two-tiered flash menus, but it doesn't use flash, allowing for much quicker page loading. Any suggestions?  - File Upload Component Hey All, Hope you can help with this. I am thinking it might be a user error on part of my client but correct me if I am wrong. I have created a page with about 15 upload forms to allow client to upload images to separate folders for a photo gallery. It always works fine for me. Never have a problem from 2 different computers. My client experiences the following problems. Unsure if there might be some utility on her machine that cause her to be unable to upload.  - hyperlink text disappears when editing Hello. Two of us have recently taken over responsibility for our company website. The existing site was built using AdobeGoLive. We are going to support it using Front Page 2003. We've made several successful changes the past two months. Just to clarify we are not both on the site at the same time making chances. The other user has the main responsibility. I back her up and troubleshoot for her when necessary, but am far from an expert in Front Page 2003. Recently when we try to change an existing hyperlink to redirect it to a new target, the text disappears. For example: Click here for our VACATION specials site. VACATION was a hyperlink to www.oldwebsite.com/ourcompany. We wanted to redirect the hyperlink to a new site www.newwebsite.com/ourcompany. Regardless of whether you right click on the VACATION and then edit the hyperlink or whether you go into the Code Screen and change the target in html, the result is the same. You now see on the Design screen: Click here for our specials site. The word VACATION that was the hyperlink has now disappeared. We both have licenses for FrontPage 2003 and it happens to both of us. I have searched both Office Online and the Microsoft KB without success. Help would really be appreciated. I can't seem to figure out how to get Intellisense in FP to give me list properties for ASP objects, such as response. or request. In DW and in VS.NET, when I type "response."  - Looping in a Form I have Office XP with Front Page 2002. I have a form with 18 questions. Question 18 is a radio button response. I need to know where/what to code in the page that if the YES option is selected, the user is returned to questions 12-18 for each occurrence of a YES in question 18 (up to 10 loops). I also want to store the results of each occurrence/respones to questions 12-18 in its own cell in an Excel spreadsheet. I have the form page built for the first occurrence, but not the looping.  - text is moving with screen ! i am trying to create my own web site and have only just started and have a problem already. i have placed a background image on the site which has coloured boxes on it, then i created a cell ontop of one of these colour boxes and added some text (so it looks like its in the box), when im in the working screen or preview screen it looks good but when i go to preview in internet explorer6 window the text all moves with the size of the explorer window thus moving the text away from the coloured box when i increase or decrease the explorer window size , how do i lock it in place so if you shrink your explorer window the text stays there and you need to scroll across to see it all, rather that it shrinking on its own trying to fit in the explorer window.  - Permission denied when publishing If I have "Changed pages only" option selected in the publishing options I get a 550 'xxxxxx': permission denied error when I try to publish my web site. This did not occurr until my dsl service changed the isp from gnat.net to pstel.net I suspect something on the Host ftp server causing this but they must sub their hosting out because their tech support is clueless.  - target tag within iframe element FrontPage 2003 insists on inserting the "target=_self" attribute within my iframe elements. (Not the links pointing to the iframe, the iframe itself.) Even when I remove that attribute from the code for the iframe, FrontPage puts it right back in when I save the page. HTML validators, including FrontPage's, flag the "target" attribute as invalid for the iframe element. How do I get FrontPage to stop fighting me on this and stop reinserting this invalid attribute?  - Fill In Dates Hopefully someone out there has tried this. I'm trying to write an application that incorporates a timecard for contractor time entry. I have a date picker so that the contractor can pick the Monday start date on which the weeks time is for. What I want to do is take this value and fill seven corresponding text boxes (Sunday through Saturday) with dates driven off the text box the date picker fills in. Something wherein Sunday=startdate-1, Tuesday=startdate+1, Wednesday=startdate+2, etc. Yes, its being written in FP2003 interfacing with a SQL database. If anyone can give me a heads up on the javascript that would do this, I'd appreciate it.  - Why isn't my page title working? I am trying to start the SEO tasks on my new webpage. This is the first time I've developed a web page and my first time using frontpage. I'm trying to add a page title to my pages, but it's not taking. If I go to page properties on the actual page, the Title field is not active. If I go to the Properties box from the folders list, the Title field is active, but my entry does not take. I can click apply, and nothing happens, and I can click ok, and nothing happens.
