    - Two Frontpage questions - images and backing up 1) When I copy a jpg from image software into a website in Frontpage, the image degrades. I don't think this happens with .gifs, but why is it happening and can it be prevented? 2) Whats the best way to SAVE an entire website to your hard drive? I've tried exporting from Frontpage, File/Save from Explorer, and File/Save as to my HD using Frontpage. But those only save specific pages, and even then they don't save the linked images in those pages.     - Checkbox group I have a editclient asp file. It allows the user to update the client info like address and other information. One field I have in the sql table is DisabilityCode. A person can be Vision, Physical, Conitive...They are coded by the first initials. So for one client, they can have up to 5 codes....for example, they could be CPV, PV or just V. How should I go about setting up a field on the webpage to allow the customer service rep to choose what code applies to the client? I was thinking of doing a checkbox group...so the client just checks the boxes that apply. When saving to the sql table, asp automatically saves it as "C, P, V" or "C, P". For this: When a CSR goes to edit a client info, if the text field has "C, P", how can I have the C and P checkbox already checked for them? Another option would have each code be its own checkbox. I would still have to do an if then statement for each checkbox to have it checked or not when the CSR goes to that webpage. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!     - Wrapping Text with Pix and Tables I am having a problem placing text to the left or right of a table or picture. I usually convert the pic to gif and place it inside a table. Then I place the table to the right. However, when I do, a huge blank space appears to the left In which I can type nothing. To further add to my frustration, I somehow solved this problem on my home page. However, if I change themes to a customized theme, the text reverts to below the picture. My web-site host installed FP extensions for me. _vti_cnf _vti_log _vti_pvt _vti_script _vti_txt Ever since then when I publish my web site to the server it keeps telling me that these files do not exist on my local directory and do I wish to delete them from the web server.     - Index.htm loses color when displayed I am using Front Page 2000 and I have a 61 page web, http://www.fansfantasygifts.com and several days ago the Home page lost its background. I am using a Theme, loose- gesture and every other page is OK but the Home page, index.htm, has a white background. I have uninstalled Front Page and reinstalled it and I have replaced all the files in the Theme folders. BUT, I created a new web with only 3 pages and used the same default Theme as in my big one and the Home page worked fine.     - Can you make MS FP 2003 "<! MS..." remarks stop appearing? I have to place a script in all of my 208 webpages. The java script will only run correctly when it follows directly behind the <body tag. If not, you get an error and the script may not run correctly. It is used to place the graphics for my NavBar and has to be in that position to perform some calculations accurately. Else, the graphics look pretty weird. Can I make the "<! MS Navigation" remarks disappear by some setting in FP2003? I am using FP2003 on WinXP SP3.     - want to change the default text on a picture on my web site i have a site with a bunch of photos.. when you insert a picture the text associated with that picture is the file name.. so when the pointer hoovers over the photo, it shows the photo file name.     - Link Bar - Home won't show up Help! For some reason after I added a new link, the home button no longer shows up after the first move to another page. You can never go back to home. I've tried removing the one I added and still it won't work.     - Mac bmp issues Got a question about if there is an issue with a Mac displaying bitmaps? Because I'm doing a web site for a photographer who wanted to use some font that is not very common. So I had to put all of the verbage into a .bmp file. Looks fine in a PC but not in a MAC.     - Migrating from MSFP Themes to CSS : Image Border Colours not working Hopefully this is a common problem and the solution is simple! I have an existing site that is a mixture of text and thumb-nailed images. I have been using FrontPage Themes but as these are becoming "chocolate box" / cliché I want the better control and flexibility of CSS. As a first step I thought I would replicate the Theme in native CSS, eliminating all the <!--mstheme ...> data and <font ...> type tags. After a big rework of the site and the software that generates it I have got *MOST* of the conversion to emulate the original MSFP2000 managed set of pages. There are two exceptions however. I'll go into the other one in a separate posting. This one is about the ugly blue border around the thumbnails! The site previously used the Glacier Theme, with its cool green-grey-blue colour scheme. The thumb borders were identical to the colours applying to text hyperlinks, and while I have successfully got the text looking right (with a:link, a:visited, a:active and a:hover rules set to the colours from the theme) the thumb borders are blue or purple! Generic! I've managed to force one page to display the colours I want by setting the body tag parameters to: <body link="#339999" vlink="#999999" alink="#406666"> This isn't good for a couple of reasons. One - it is hardwired and means I have style info in my pages (not true CSS philosophy). Two - MSFP cleans out the information whenever it does a "refresh" of the site! So how do I get the thematic coloured borders around my thumbs? I have searched the web with Google and read the CSS2 specification, but I am none the wiser!     - Hyperlinks not working in Preview mode We just installed FP2003 on my wife's computer - - I'll admint, I am not an expert on it - - however, apparently, previously, with FP2000 - she could click on the hyperlinks (around Images), just as it were an actual web page, and it would work just like the web page, going to the linked page. BUT - now, with FP2003 - when you click on the hyperlinks in preview mode, nothing happens.... If I view the page in a browser window, the hyperlinks work great, and when I publish the page on the website, the links work great.....     - Validate form input (ASP) Hi: I spent a whole day trying to find a simple ASP code to validate two boxes input. All I got were java and ASP.NET and I've tried them but could not work here. Can anyone please help? Here is what I got The form is based on "ASP" and will deliver data and store into an Access database - this part is ok. If all fields have been filled out and submitted, it will link to a confirmation page - this part is ok. Upon submit, the form will first check if all the required input is being filled out - this part is ok. Problem is one more validation for two password boxes. The two passwords have to match each other before the form is being processed. What I have tried --- (1) Scripts are either being ignored without processing for any validation, or (2) An error message jumped out saying the two passwords do not match each other but the form still is being processed and the confirmation page still be brought up. I know there is a "validate" option box for text box but have no idea of how to set up the last two options for the value. I could not find anywhere from Microsoft about any explanations of the set up, neither for the ASP samples. I found some from other sites but did not work. Please show me or point me to where I can finish up these last validation. PS: Kindly do let me know where should I put those scripts in the code section if you do have them. I am trying to preview my page and the hover button that I have created (with a correct link) does not display correctly. It shows the outline with a red X and does not function when clicking on it. I was thinking of running some kind of script which filters out parts of the original page (eg by specific strings) and replaces it with new code (eg using document.write())... After many kind helps from all of you and my relentless screw ups of my computers, I managed to complete the registration form and logon with Access DB. A few questions, if you don't mind again, for your advise or just point me to where I can find the articles. Well, I have read the help files about the two, basically, it does not tell me the differences but only how to do those. Hi Paul.....

You can use Access database files from FP but you are not going to be able
to open an Access Application. Can you even compile Access files into an
"application", ie a stand alone program that works without Access???????
