    - FrontPage XP web project; losing bots/theme in publishing to web Help!! I have created a web locally using FrontPage XP (Office XP SP3). The site works locally except for forms that require FrontPage Extensions on a web server. When I upload the site to the web server (running FP Extensions 2002) the navigation borders and nav controls are missing....the theme also was lost. This site is a 'test' site which will replace an existing site at the root of the website. The root site was created using the same steps as below but it worked AOK throughout. The only difference was I was at SP1 for Office XP...I installed SP3 to see if the problem would clear... Steps taken to create test site... 1-Created new web project on local disk and test content, theme, and navigation. (Not created as a sub-web of the original root web site but in a new web project folder.) 2-created a sub web below the root site using FP admin on server 3-published local site to server by right clicking highest order folder object in FrontPage client folder list and selecting the sub-web created by FP admin 4-tested site for content, nav and theme....no borders, nav, theme. The web components on the form work fine...creates the file in _private. 5-Since I needed to demo the site for others to review, I re-created the nav , borders & theme live on the sub-web and tested again ...AOK. I then published the test site back to a new empty web project folder locally and experienced the same result...no borders, nav or theme. 6-Installed Office XP SP3...re-did steps...same results Thanks!     - Shared borders In setting up shared borders, (left and right) all pages work correctly except for my home/index page which will not accept the right border.     - Show/Hide Text Script Hello! Ok guys I'm trying to follow the script template provided by dynamic drive here: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/switchmenu.htm However, instead of showing/hiding hyperlinks upon clicking the button, I would like an address formatted block of text to appear instead. I have a basic understanding of how to do this, but the problem I'm having is how to tell the script to kick text to the next line. For example, Upon clicking the button for say SomeDistrict, I would like text to appear in this format: Name address city, state phone etc Instead, everything is thrown on one line, such as Name address etc all mixed together. How can I tell the script to start a new line for the block of text, and also how can I center the buttons on my page, instead of having them left alligned?     - database Interface Wizard When using the database interface wizard in Front Page 2003 the maximum number of results available is 256 - I've tried to remove the restriction within the code - by setting the "fp_iMaxRecords=" to 0 and "fp_iPageSize=" to 0 - but when I save the changes it always returns to the defaul 256.     - Database Connection-Simple Problem OK, I've got a lot of DB interfaces running. On this particular web, I am perplexed as I continue to be able to go through the DB wizard to produce DB results page in FP 2003, but then when displayed within the browser, I get the following error: Database Results Wizard Error [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] '(unknown)' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides. * I made sure my web has sessionstate enabled, and it does. * ASP is running * Global.asa is present and was created by FP2003 with a DSN-less connection to the fpdb directory and downloaded the MS test. * Did a sample Server.Mappath in ASP and it finds the DB OK.     - Included html file does not appear in web browser I have a website running on a Windows 2003 Server and I use FrontPage 2003. I tried to include the content from one html page into another with the Include command. When I preview the page in FrontPage I can see the included content. However, the included content does not appear when I open the page in a Internet Explorer.     - Help with CDO sending emails I've posted this in several forums, either I'm told I'm in the wrong forum or I get no answers, please if you think I am in the wrong forum just don't respond - thanks. ok, I wrote a script that queries a database, compares some data, and sends emails to aliases (some are individuals, some are distribution lists) that resulted from one of the queries. When I tested it and had it only send to me it worked fine, when I had it send to the query result emails (To 1 person, CC to 3 people and bcc to me), we all got it 5 times! I can't figure it out. When I debugged it only execute "oMsg.Send" once. The only thing i could figure out is that it was sent out to 5 people so maybe somehow CDO repeated it for each person, but I don't know how to figure that out.. Let me quickly explain what my queries do: The first query searches for pending orgs, the second query searches for existing users for the first pending org, the third query gets the pending user(s) for that pending org. Then the code checks to see if the sum of the pending and existing is more than 5, if more than 5 the pending org is disapproved and they receive 1 email, if the result is not more than 5 they are approved and they get another email. Then the code loops back if there is another org and does the same thing. When I ran the script â??liveâ?? the first time, there was only 1 pending org, 1 pending user, and 3 existing user so they received the â??approvedâ?? email â?? 5 times! (as I did) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!     - webb visitor list - any methods to convert search engines query strings? Hi, I have a table (in txt or imported in excel or ms access) with visitors of a web site and there I get the search strings if they come to this website directly from a query thorugh google, altavista, msn etc. I want to have their search words clearly written in the column. Now there is difficult to see what it is because there is signs before and after the words and also UTF translations from language-specific signs. Is there a easy way to convert this?     - Discussion group template I just finished making a web using the subject template. It would serve my simply needs just fine except for one issue. When posting, if one enters more than one space, a tab, a CR or LF the program truncates/sets those formatting items back to a single space. Is there an option somewhere that I've missed? What it's doing now is giving me the results on a new instance of the same page.     - Display issues with hover buttons I'm having issues where hover buttons are not displaying correctly (partial or not at all) after the page loads in the browser. If I scroll the image off the screen and back on again, the image now is correct. The behavior is the same for canned buttons in FP 2002 or gif's I've created myself.     - Passing a parameter Here's a bit of HTML that attempts to call an executable and pass a parameter: <form method="POST" action="http://11.22.33.444/MyFolder/MyEXE.exe/Begin"> The executable is MyEXE.exe and the parameter is "Begin". Unfortunately my browser (IE 6) doesn't recognize this statement. It will find the EXE if the parameter is left off... but then the EXE doesn't work properly. Is there a better way to pass this parameter to the executable? (I don't think I can call a server-side script to call the EXE because the EXE returns an HTML response to whatever calls it.)     - Populate text box from list I would like vistors to my site to be able send an email via a form by selecting from a list of names and addresses, I am not sure how to acheive this as I need to insert the persons name, address and email address into the body of an email by clicking one check box or list/menu.     - FrontPage 2003 crashes when applying DWT's I have posted this on microsoft.public.frontpage.client as well but it's duplicated here in case someone else has an answer. I have a CSS driven site that I am trying to use Dynamic Web Templates with. However; when I try to attach a template to a page it crashes FrontPage. FrontPage also crashes when I try to update any pages that already have DWT's attached. The site is hosted by an ISP that has FP 2002 server extensions installed but FrontPage also crashes on the local machine. I can log onto the same site with Dream Weaver and do anything I like with the DWT's without problems. I have tried using DWT's with tables in the pages and the problem isn't nearly as apparent but on any pages that rely on CSS positioning, the crashes are instant. Has anyon run across this before or know of a solution. I am using FrontPage 2003 on a Windows Server 2003 machine. The same problem occurs with FP 2003 on the clients' Windows XP machine, both locally and on the server. All pages have an ASP extension which I need for some of the other programming I am using. I have also tried a basic ASP page with nothing on it and the problem still occurs. As I suggested to the client to use Frontpage against their IT person's recommendations, I'm the one that is now left to sort the problem out. They are looking at purchasing 6 other licences once the problem is solved but they are also now looking at spending the extra and purchasing copies of Dream Weaver instead.     - How to skip questions on a form using a command button I want to create a short 20 question survey using Frontpage. There is one question per page. Basically a form that posts data to an Access database. I won't be using Survey template or Sharepoint. Problem: The question for example "Do you drive a car to work" uses mutually exclusive Yes/No radio buttons. I would like to be able to direct the user to the next question (page) based on their answer. If they answer yes they would go to Question 2. "What type of car" If they answered no they would be directed to Question 3 "Do you catch the train" In other words question 2 would be skipped based on the no response.     - Frontpage Additional and delete from database issue ok Heres the scoop cust table id firstname lastname datetime part table id custid partno datetime What I have is a form that shoots the id from the cust table to a another asp page just by having the ?formid=xxx at the end of the url. It pulls the correct info in both the database results for the customer name and the parts that have a custid that matches the formid in the URL. Now I want to ADD a part from the same asp page, so I dropped in a form, and put a textbox for part number, and shot it to the part table. Id is autonumber, then in the advanced properties, I put in that the custid would = ::formid:: or [formid] whatever. It just drops in the formid, not the acutal number above in the URL. How do I do this with my form? Second, once I click submit on this form to add this part, I want it to repull the same ASP page, with the same formid that the orginal customer listing page does.     - Click this text box to continue to next page i have create a page with text boxes where people click on the text in these boxes, but now can i have it so they click anywhere in the text box instead of having them click just the text. the only way i have found to do this is to fill the rest of the text box with spaces on each end of the text and assign each line to the next page which is not really very good as this page will change every now and then. thank you in advance for your help.     - Form OnAction Question Hi All, I am creating a form on my navigation page that will allow a user to search either the Intranet for information or the Corporate Phone List. I have the corporate phone list option working perfectly. The form element onaction is pointing to ../../phone_list_search_advanced.asp. But, my Intranet search option uses a completely different approach to search. The search Intranet option uses the default *.idq file built into FrontPage. My question, how can I tell my page what action to use based on a drop down box. The contents of the drop box are Intranet and Phone List. If the user has Intranet selected and types in search criteria, of course the phone_list_search_advanced.asp page opens indicating that no match was found. No match was found because it's hitting the wrong page. I'm pretty much stumped right now on how to continue. I'm stoked that the phone list option works, that's the one I was worried about the most.     - watermark in netscape I created and gallery and I want the background to scroll over a background picture (watermark). All of the page work well with the watermark in netscape. The frist and the last page don't work with the watermark in netscape. Of course, they all work well in IE.     - Renaming web problems In my first week with Front Page 2003, those monkey-on-the-keyboard days, I created a web. Then I deleted the files of that web. I doubt that I deleted the web from Front Page. I now want to rename a web but can't. When I try to rename with the name I want, the error message says that site is "already in use."     - A form in Excel saved as webpage I have basically an inventory sheet I created in MS Excel and when finished I went to "save as web page" which then saved it as an .htm file. I then tried to open it in MS Front Page and it automatically opened it within Excel for some reason. I do not want it to do that.
