    - Simple Form I would like to set up a sub site that is accessed from the main site. I want to limit who sees the subsite. I would like to issue a password to all the people in my group so they may view the site. Nothing fancy. You type in the password and you view the site. How doe one go about validating this on a form? How doe one go about adding a simple password. I don't want to get involved in huge data base projects and the like.     - Two Index Pages For some reason I have two Index pages on both the server & computer. The only different is the icon and the extension. One extension is HTM the other is HTML.     - Ok to remove style="border-collapse: collapse" I received an email from someone in an online forum about my site. I had indicated that the borders on my site do not appear the same in IE and NN.     - LAYERING I built a site banner and the cells to hold the pics. In the center of the banner I have a 45 degree line, about 30 pixels thick, going from left to right. In the upper right area I'm trying to add a flash movie of fading pictures but don't want the pictures to show up on top of the line but behind it. I know I could place the jpeg line as the background if I wanted it behind the movie but I'm curious to if there is a way to put in the flash as a backgound?     - New Index page I have created a "new" index page for our web. I renamed it "index" and named the old one "index2". When I published, the new Index comes up as the home page, but when I start to navigate all the "up" buttons return to the OLD index.     - Can I pass a parameter in a hyperlink? I have a hyperlink defined on a page. I added a parameter to the hyperlink (querystring name "activity" with a value of "activity1"). The hyperlink is to a page with a form on it. I want that value of 'activity' to be the value of a hidden field on that form. My plan is to have several different links throughout the website go to the same page/form and the value of this hidden field will tell the process where it came from.     - _derived versus _DERIVED When I publish to a web hosting service, FP2000 seems to create certain folders in UPPER CASE. Things like buttons on shared borders (using standard MS themes) are not found, because the link to them is in lower case.     - Missing Images on redirect of 404 page errors One of the things I was interested in with the new server I just moved to was the ability to set what happens when someone hits an error on my web site. I've been with Interland for years and recently moved to a new server. Through the control panel I could indicate where a person would end up if they hit a dead page on my site. Obviously we pointed the 404 error to move the person to the main page of my site. HOWEVER, when I type in what use to be a valid location on my site, but is dead now, my index.html page comes up without any images. Example: http://www.kcflorist.com/by.occasion/everyday/ed.01.htm That should put you on my site but where did the images go? Well, Interland said it is my code and here it there response: "The source code is not correct. The location specified in the image source tag should begin with a / Example: Correct img src="/01.admin.files/nav.images/world.gif" Example: Incorrect img src="01.admin.files/nav.images/world.gif" Your page using the incorrect example. By correcting the code you will resolve the error." OK...I added the / to the images and not too surprising, the images appeared on my index.html page as dead.     - Frontpage should show an indicator that some script exits here In dreamweaver we see an indicator where there are scripts in HTML document. But frontpage does not show anything indicating the existence of code that need webserver to run such as asp, php etc. I think it should show it. Second one is that, I think there should be given an option when creating a website project that in which case file & folder name will be generated. User can choose from UCase, Lcase, or Mixcase.     - Navigation Rendering Problems I have recently modified my left shared border and the navigation bar only to find out that it is not publishing properly. It would appear that the link bar is being produced in its most narrow size, truncating some of my text and the graphics it is using. I have tried changing the style only to have the same results. The form data goes to an Access database located in the "fpdb" folder on the server. On your local machine, always open a FrontPage Web first,
and only then create pages and hyperlinks among them.

Also, for pictures and other constituent files, always add
them to your Web site first (i.e. by dragging them from
Windows Explorer and dropping them in the FrontPage folder
list). Then, drag them from the Folder list and drop them
onto your open Web page.
