 - [FrontPage Save Results Component] Hi, Sometimes when I publish and view my forms on the ISP server I get the following message at the top of the form for all visitors to see - [FrontPage Save Results Component] 1/ Why does it only show up on some forms and not others. 2/ More importantly how to I consistantly get rid of it.  - Text Area to a text field Hi, I've got a form in which I want to allow input from that form to a text field in a database. I used the text area type of form field, so that the user can include paragraphs, even if they have to be short ones. The database field has to be a text field, because I do queries on it, and querying a memo field generates garbage in Access. But a text field can recognize "carriage returns", so I want to use the text area type field in the form. But, when I use the text area, I get a type mismatch between the form and the database field.  - Connecting to other DB's on a LAN through FP I use Frontpage to connect to an Access DB typically held in the Frontpage default folder of fpdb in the web. I need to connect to a different database stored on a server connected to the LAN. Doing a direct copy will corrupt the DB since it's open somewhere on the LAN 24/7. Replication triples the size of the DB and slows it down to a snails pace so that won't work. I am currently linking the tables of the DB in fpdb folder to the real DB on the LAN. You can open the linked DB through Frontpage but it won't allow you to create the connection string using the Frontpage Database results wizard. Does anyone know of an additional ODBC connection that I additionally need to create or have any other ideas? I'm stuck. Thanks for your help! Q45 Tag: Add link Tag: 27799

 - Links to a .pdf/ .mpp document In FrontPage I am unable set a link to launch a .pdf or Microsoft Project document in it's own application. The documents open in their respective application (Acrobat Reader and Microsoft Project)within the browser that is being used rather than these applications opening up separately from the browser.  - Adobe PDF Properties Problem I use Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional to create PDF files. I created a PDF file and set the Properties to "Hide the Tool Bar". If I save and open it with Adobe it looks perfect. My problem is when I publish it in Front Page and open the web page, the "Tool Bar" is showing.  - ASP Confirmation Page I have several forms which worked fine but after our server people installed a bunch of security patches it broke my asp code (so they tell me). I want to switch these forms over to the Front Page Form handler. It SEEMS that Front Page will not let me use asp/shtm pages. (I have server side includes and need to use those types of pages).  - Web Page Printing Problem We have a database search page. One of the information pages does not print properly because the windows background printing reloads the page, but does not wait long enough to capture all the information. So, the result is, the top title part appear, but the data does not print on the first page. But all the following pages print correctly. So how do I : 1) change the printing...? 2) slow done or make the printing wait until the page is complete ? 3) speed up the data search ? It is a ODBC connection to Foxpro database.  - Flash Pop Up/ly In In frontpage 2002, i could add a flash movie to a page and use format, position and Z=1. The flash movie would play on top when the web page was loaded and then close. You could also close the flash movie by cliking on the quit button. Now in frontpage 2003, when i do the same thing, a blue layer box appers and my flash movie will not close.  - Photo Gallery sizing issues Hi, Two things: 1) I habe users visiting my site who use both Explorer and Netscape. When the Netscape users click on the thumbnails, the image is resized to fit into the frame so no scrolling is required. The Explorer user clicking on the same thumbnail has it show up full size and requirtes scrolling around in the frame, which is annoying to them. How can I correct this , or do all phots have to be resized to fit into the frame? To see what I am talking about www.leetreewoodworks.com. Just click on customw woodworking, and then the thumbnail of Bubba's bar picture 2. 2) Some of the thumbnails automatically resize themselves when i open the Phot Gallery properties window.  - Is Frontpage the right product? I know nothing about HTML / website building, but need to put together a couple of nice web sites. Is frontpage easy enough to either use right out of the box, or at least learn quickly, or will I need to spend a lot of time learning html andeverything that goes with it?  - link on a grouped object i have auto shapes which i am using as a links to other pages. when adding text to them, half of the text was cut off at the bottom, so i decided to make a 100% transparent text box directly over top of the autoshape. seems to work fine, and looks great. if i want to create the link, it underlines the text (ugly), and if i use the shape as the link, the "link pointer" only changes when not hovering over the text box. the same applies when the objects are grouped. i would like to have a nice link like i did create, but i would like it to have the pointer when hovering over top of the whole object, preferably grouped. or have my added text on the object not be cut off at the bottom. its only that it centers the text on the auto shape. i gues a way around it would be to ask if there was a way to have the added text on an object to be aligned at the top of it. any suggestions would be much appreciated. Now, each of the 5 persons who just sent me $1.00 make the MINIMUM 200 postings, each with my name at #5 and only 5 persons respond to each of the original 5,that is another $25.00 for me, now those 25 each make 200 MINIMUM posts with my name at #4 and only 5 replies each, I will bring in an additional $125.00! Now, those 125 persons turn around and post the MINIMUM 200 with my name at #3 and only receive 5 replies each, I will make an additional $626.00! OK, now here is the fun part, each of those 625 persons post a MINIMUM 200 letters with my name at #2 and they each only receive 5 replies, that just made me $3,125.00!!! Those 3,125 persons will all deliver this message to 200 newsgroups with my name at #1 and if still 5 persons per 200 newsgroups react I will receive $15,625,00! With an original investment of only $6.00! AMAZING! And as I said 5 responses is actually VERY LOW! Average is probable 20 to 30! So lets put those figures at just 15 responses per person. Here is what you will make: at #6 $15.00 at #5 $225.00 at #4 $3,375.00 at #3 $50,625.00 at #2 $759,375.00 at #1 $11,390,625.00 When your name is no longer on the list, you just take the latest posting in the newsgroups, and send out another $6.00 to names on the list, putting your name at number 6 again. And start posting again. The thing to remember is, do you realize that thousands of people all over the world are joining the internet and reading these articles everyday, JUST LIKE YOU are now!! So can you afford $6.00 and see if it really works?? I think so... People have said, "what if the plan is played out and no one sends you the money? So what! What are the chances of that happening when there are tons of new honest users and new honest people who are joining the internet and newsgroups everyday and are willing to give it a try? Estimates are at 20,000 to 50,000 new users, everyday, with thousands of those joining the actual internet. Remember, play FAIRLY and HONESTLY and this will work. You just have to be honest.  - Form that post data to WSS list? Hi, I wish to make a form that submits it's data to a WSS list. Also I need to set the permissions so that people with Reader permissions can ONLY add items to the list. Specifically I want to create a Service Request form that anyone can fill out and submit to a Tasks or Issues list but they can not view the lists contents. It would be OK if they could only see their own items. Additionally, when items are added to list I want an Alert sent to people who have subscribed to the list. Things that I have tried: 1. Create a Task list, Change permissions for the list so that Readers can View, insert, edit, delete items. Modify Item-level Permissions so that Read access: Only their own and Edit access: Only their own. Everything works OK except people with full access to the list can not setup Alerts. 2. Create an Issue list, and attempt to set the permissions as above, but the Issue list does not seem to let you Modify Item-level permissions.  - Update #810217 stops .rm file publish My FrontPage 2000 stops with an error when I try to publish my web after I installed update #810217. The error says; An error occurred accessing your FrontPage web files. Authors - if authoring against a web server, please contact the webmaster for this server's site. Webmasters - please see the server's system log for more details. I imported the web and started publishing it folder by folder and the audio folder with .rm (RealMedia files) causes it to error out. It also empties other folders in my web like the image folder. From my reading of the KB article, this update is for a server running FrontPage extensions. I use FP extensions on my ISP's server.  - Import macro Hi, We have a macro in Frontpage 2000 which all our Frontpage users should be able to use. Now we are preparing to upgrade to Frontpage 2003. We tested the macro and it still works. To prevent importing the macro on all the systems after the installation of Frontpage I was wondering if it would be possible to import the macro and it's form with a script right after the installation of Frontpage completes. When I add a dataview webpart through frontpage 2003 and change the style to
a simple list style, and then when I add a few links to them and open it up
again in frontpage 2003, the addlink link at the bottom of the list,
disappears.

Has anyone seen this before ?
